March 31st - NOON
Week 0 - Epilogue
The day is bright, last night’s events seem like a bad dream. If it wasn’t for Lovepon and Mira’s absence, it’d seem like none of that ever happened.
But it did. The police agents milling around in the park and processing the crime scene are proof none of that was a dream or a hallucination. Twenty-two people were brought to Cartesio, and now there are twenty alive.
You’re alive right now and that’s what matters.
Looks like there won’t be any answers about why you’re here, or about how you got here. It’s not satisfying, but the Sergeant wasn’t forthcoming about anything. All there’s left to hope is that there won’t be any last minute surprises to be sprung up on you, and that in any moment the Sergeant comes out of the police station to tell you how you’ll be taken back home.
What’s taking him so long? Who knows. Why not to talk with your fellow participants one last time? It seems all the places you could go into are open right now and willing to give you service. Cartesio is your oyster right now. Go ahead!

cw: slight clear card spoilers
Those are words that Sakura's been telling herself today now that she's managed to catch her breath from it all. She couldn't take it. All of it. The murder, the execution... how they could have wound up voting for someone innocent. Her breath stilled and she couldn't bear to watch. None of it is fair.
They should have all been able to go home together. And now there's just twenty of them left.
You know, it's kind of funny, how things go. Not to mention what today's date is. The end of March. It's the day before Sakura's birthday. Ironic, isn't it, that this date will always leave a sour taste in her mouth and make her feel horrendously sick to her stomach. She doesn't even know if she can eat, much less do anything.
Even though she probably should avoid it, she's at one of the benches in the park -- head down but she's in tears. She hasn't cried at all since the murder and now she's just letting it all out, tears streaming down her cheeks, musing aloud to herself.]
Lovepon-san... and even Mira-san, who did horrible things... they both didn't deserve this. They didn't deserve to die. It's horrible, it's really horrible...!!
[And she hates it so much. She wishes that Syaoran were here to comfort her, but she's very much aware that it isn't going to happen.]
If only I was stronger, I would have been able to stop this. I'm sure of it.
[Maybe if she could turn back time, she'd be able to. But then she remembers the words that her mother said to her — and she shakes her head. She can't do something like that, can she?]
I don't want to be here anymore... I want to see Syaoran-kun again. I want everything to be alright again.

But damn. It's enough of a weird feeling to have when you're taking a drink of coffee in a diner and just kind of staring at it and stirring it listlessly.]
...well. I'm alive. That's the important thing, isn't it?
[...he kind of mumbles to himself.]

But also... She didn't deserve to be executed for defending herself.
[ She whispered softly to herself. ]

Sorry, Korosensei. He can't put his blade down just yet.
Nagisa can be found in the ice cream parlor. He'd been fine after the execution, able to just walk away with only the restrained fury he'd finished the trial with. Now, however, he's troubled. He has a bowl full of what seems to be one scoop of every flavor this place has to offer, but he's more playing with it than eating it.]

Which means that she is very liable to run right into someone again. She has learned nothing from this week.]
END OF THE WEEK
Everyone! Come right here!
[True, the four days are over, and it’s past noon by now. The Sergeant shouldn’t have any authority over you now. Still, this is the man who has you confined to Cartesio. Just for that reason, going to see him may be necessary]
First, thank you for fulfilling my expectations. I again would like to remark you were invaluable.
[He stops. For a moment he just looks at all of you, expression hidden behind the shifting shadows on his face, and lets the megaphone down]
You all are so anxious to return home...this is a complicated matter, to be frank with you. It’s not as simple as putting you on a vehicle and sending you home.
[...]
I hid a lot of information from you all, for a variety of reasons. Honestly at this point you shouldn’t be surprised. I did it to encourage a murder, and now I admit I hid more from you. Not much anyone can do about it, that’s simply how life is. Life is unfair.
[Even though his word choice sounds almost apologetic, his voice doesn’t sound sorry at all. Suddenly you feel an electric shock to the back of your neck. It forces you to drop on your knees, still conscious enough to hear him]
Those of you who aren’t chosen...well, you will wake up home. It may not be what you expect, but it will be home.
[Something about the way he says ‘home’ is strange. There’s barely time to think what exactly he means by that, you only hear a few words more before you fall unconscious]
Those who will continue on and receive true liberation…
...I’ll see you at the bottom of the rabbit hole, okay?
