The Sergeant's deadline is tonight. An offer to get in contact with people you know, yet also a threat. Given how fed up he was, it's unlikely he's joking about the kind of cruelty he's willing to go through for the sake of getting what he wants.
That's why it may not be so surprising that, early in Friday morning, there's this air of tension, despite the bright sun in the sky. It doesn't help that a firetruck and a couple patrolcars race through the streets, passing in front of the motel and going west. The reason why is clear after a single glance:
There's a thick column of black smoke emanating from somewhere inside the Junkyard.
[ When you arrive at the junkyard, it doesn't look like the police or firefighters have dug into the scene too much. Probably because they seem too baffled to?
Something very wrong seems to have happened here, evident by the burning, broken-down car they're stopped in front of. That's the source of the smoke, but it looks like...there's something inside it, as well. ]
[ Not unless you want your hands burned off! You'll need to find a way to extinguish enough of the fire...or hey, maybe ask the bewildered firefighter with the hose? ]
[ well, oda's not really going to wait for dazai to open the fucking door and possibly burn himself because as soon as he sees something inside, he immediately turns back to the firefighters with an uncharacteristic amount of emotion in his voice. ]
[ The man with the hose gasps, and suddenly they're all scrambling. Shouting to one another, and within seconds a steady stream of water drenches the burning car, until the fire is out. ]
[ It's still definitely a little toasty, but you can open it well enough.
Once you do, the hazy figure inside the car's a lot easier to see, as he's lying across the front seats. Like someone laid down without any care to take a nap, in the worst place possible. However, damp with both some kind of liquid and blood around the abdomen, it's easy to see, something a lot more sinister happened here.
And a lot more fatal. Face caught in an expression of pain, the man's head tips as the door opens, to look Dazai right in the eye.
[ While they rush around, a few people apologize to Gant, and others murmur their thanks. It seems like this is nothing the firefighters have seen before. ]

If you all can’t quite figure out how to handle this, maybe I can be of assistance...?
