Week 2: Investigation

The Sergeant's deadline is tonight. An offer to get in contact with people you know, yet also a threat. Given how fed up he was, it's unlikely he's joking about the kind of cruelty he's willing to go through for the sake of getting what he wants.

That's why it may not be so surprising that, early in Friday morning, there's this air of tension, despite the bright sun in the sky. It doesn't help that a firetruck and a couple patrolcars race through the streets, passing in front of the motel and going west. The reason why is clear after a single glance:

There's a thick column of black smoke emanating from somewhere inside the Junkyard.

[Niwatori just opens hers up. You get a knife! You get a knife! Everybody gets a knife!]

... Wow. Someone really didn't like knives!

[Yes, they don't look like very good knives. Just look at all that rust! Rust from the Junkyard, to boot.

Also, it's your lucky day, Niwa. Looks like something's different about one of the knives in your trashcan]

[pecker]

[An attempt at cleaning up the junkyard? But... let's look at this different knife before she decides anything. Is it easy to tell at a glance, or shall she fish it out?]

[It's easy to tell.

It's the one with blood on it]

[pecker]

[Well that figures. Although you'd think if they were trying to camouflage it, they'd bury it deeper in the pile here...]

Aah! Does someone want to get this? I ... I think it might be the murder weapon...

[Is it still rusty, though?]

Huh? [ Going to peek into the can she's referring to. Reaching in to snag out the knife. ] This one?

[pecker]

[he just picked it up with his bare hands, what a du- ...delightfully helpful guy]

Umm... yes, thank you...

[Well now that it's in his hand, let's check it out! Where's the blood on this knife? Just all over?]

[cartesio]

[It's all over the blade, indeed]

[pecker]

Oh, yikes. Must have been stabbed in pretty deep...? Actually, are you okay holding that?

[It's kinda gross.]

[linearcrash]

Huh? [ Looking at the knife and then at her. ]

I can just hop back into the shower later.

[ He's open for company. Just remind him he's touched blood before he rubs the back of his head or something. ]

[pecker]

Eh? W-What do you mean, later?

[and is that REALLY an invitation!! they are going to trial after this, she's pretty sure....]

Huh? We can't?

[ Wow. Now he'll... have to think about it for a moment. ]

Hey, can you take off my cape? There's chain in the front.

[ You know the one over his dude cleavage. They need to figure out the rest of the knives. ]

[pecker]

Uhh... sure? What do you want to do with it?

[Not that she won't check out the dude cleavage. He's also pretty damn tall so she has to stand on her tip toes to reach.]

Thought we could use it to carry the knives, hey.

[ He doesn't want anyone else getting poked with rusted knives ]

[pecker]

Carry them... but where to? They're already in a trash can.

[Trash can seems pretty easy to tell people not to touch. I mean, it's a trash can.]

[Yes, it's as rusty as the others]
