Week 3: Investigation

This week's cloudy, dreary weather culminates in a thunderstorm, lasting most of the previous night. That means when you awake this morning, the town is damp and dark. It's not just the weather that gives off an oppressive feeling, though. The air, it's heavy.

The Sergeant told you, after all. This is your last day to prevent your deepest, darkest secrets from being revealed.

There's no immediate evidence that anyone's followed his orders, though. Maybe you'll get through this week without anymore unnecessary death.

Or, maybe not. Maybe you should take a look around town, just to be sure.

GRAVEYARD

[Okay. Cool. Rose absolutely refuses to look at a dead teen right now, so what's going on out here?]

[He’s with you grandma he needs some fresh fucking air.]

[ There's a few things! Would you like to check out the hole, or something a little farther into the graveyard? ]

[duckrotation]

[HMMMM... let's check a little farther into the graveyard!]

[ Congratulations, Rose, you've found an exploded grave! ]

[duckrotation]

[O...H..... wonderful....

if she peeks into the grave, does she see anything of interest?]

[Of all the things to see a nice old lady who shouldn't be here doing, staring into a grave that very visibly had something happen to it is -

Wait, no, this is plainly somewhere God has abandoned, of course it makes sense. And he's speaking too late, but he has to say something, he can't not -]

Ma'am, in my experience when a grave looks like that it's better to keep back from it....

[ Uh... Well, a coffin, still closed. No zombies here! ...We think...

The fact that the headstone is entirely shattered might be a little more helpful. ]

[shattered as in an explosion probably shattered it or someone got knocked into it and shattered it that way? are there any scorch marks?]

[So how about that big ol’ hole he found earlier?]

[cartesio]

[ It sure is a hole, alright. Jughead will notice some debris that have leaked into the graveyard, but most of it seems to be in the chapel. ]

[burgerprince]

[So whatever blasted the wall must’ve been from the outside right? That’s probably how physics works.

What’s the state of the debris? Anything special about it?]

[cartesio]

[ It's charred. That's the most notable thing about it. ]

[burgerprince]

[Noted. Anything else he should notice? How big is this hole anyway?]

[cartesio]

[ It's pretty big! Big enough for all of you to walk through comfortably, at least. ]

[burgerprince]

[Okay if he takes a peek at the pile in the chapel will he see anything of note, or should he go check the rest of the graveyard?]

[So, leaving the chapel and looking for disturbed mud-any exceptional signs?]

[cartesio]

[ In general, the ground has been very disturbed. Like the chapel, there's no way to tell footprints, as the rain's made a mess of it all, but there are a few points where it's a little more clear, if you'd like to look into those. ]

[silvertongueheir]

[Alright. Any way to estimate weight or size from those bits?]

[cartesio]

[ None. Just their locations. ]

[silvertongueheir]

[Well then, what are those locations?]

[cartesio]

[ The first is a deep indent, right behind the destroy grave. ]

[silvertongueheir]

[Hm. Does it look like a piece of gravestone fell there or what?]
