Week 3: Investigation

This week's cloudy, dreary weather culminates in a thunderstorm, lasting most of the previous night. That means when you awake this morning, the town is damp and dark. It's not just the weather that gives off an oppressive feeling, though. The air, it's heavy.

The Sergeant told you, after all. This is your last day to prevent your deepest, darkest secrets from being revealed.

There's no immediate evidence that anyone's followed his orders, though. Maybe you'll get through this week without anymore unnecessary death.

Or, maybe not. Maybe you should take a look around town, just to be sure.

[ No bloating, but you'll find he's extremely pale. His extremities (hands, fingers) have started turning white, and they're incredibly wrinkly.

As for injuries... Besides some blood from his nose and mouth, and some light froth around his lips, there's a wound near his heart. It's not incredibly deep? But it sure doesn't look fun. ]

[The mystery deepens.

Anything else Kino would note with a thorough look or can we pull this bad, dead boy out?]

[ Pull him on out, Kino. There's more to look at with him, but you'll need a better vantage point. ]

[Good thing blood doesn't show up against black jackets right ahaha. RIP the abandoned clothes store shirt though, it's white.

Guess we're going into the water to push him up onto the side. Kino is a small, so the goal here is to get him hanging off the side so she can pull herself up and drag him the rest of the way.]

[ At least it's not a lot of blood?! You're making an amazing sacrifice, Kino. Bless you.

It'll take some doing, but she can pull him out. He won't be too stiff, either, because fun fact, rigor mortis hasn't quite sunken in yet.

...In the words of another murdergame mod, that was not fun, but it was indeed factual. ]

[...No rigor mortis? Interesting.

Kino is not going to open her mouth until she's showered. So to get to that sooner, do we have anything else visible now that he's on dry, or at least damp land?]

[ In pulling him out, is he still on his back, or on his front? ]

[Still on his back for now!]

[ Looking over him, you can see the wound on his front a little better. It resembles a stab of some kind, not particularly small. Besides that, and how cold his body is, there's not much to see. ]

[Any way to tell about how wide the blade was or nah? Otherwise it's time to flip this guy over, Kino's really working off all that extra food today.]

[ Not incredibly deep! Definitely not fatal.

When turning Katsuki over, Kino will find a wound on the back of his head, blood matting his hair. ]

[More the type/size of knife used too BUT HEY THAT'S A PRETTY INTERESTING HEAD WOUND. Does this look blunt or stabby or?]

[ See, that's the strange thing about the chest wound? It does not resemble a knife mark. Beyond that, it's hard to tell much more.

The head wound is definitely blunt. ]

[Is there any debris in there that could indicate what the weapon was? General size of the wound?]

[cartesio]

[ It's sort of circular in shape? And probably around the size of a dollar coin. There's nothing that matches that size in the debris of the baptistery. ]

[Odd.

Anything else striking about the body? Otherwise Kino is probably going to start searching through his clothes for stuff because looting corpses is important.]

[ ONE HOUR LATER, the answer iiiiiissss...

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

Sorry, Kino, no loot for you today. ]

[Wet disappointed sniffle from sitting in cold bloody water for an hour.

But no, once Kino's sure there's nothing left to check/take, she's just gonna close his eyes and make her way to the motel to get a shower because being covered in cold, bloody water is not Kino's idea of a good time.]
