Week 3: Trial

April 20th. It was now time for the trial.

When everyone arrives at the trial room, the tribunes are already filled with townspeople. Compared to last week, there's less morbid curiosity and more quiet outrage. Everyone's glaring at the visitors while they enter the courtroom.

The number of podiums draped in black has increased dramatically. Nine's, Mako's, Sandalphon's, and Bakugou's have joined Moloch's, raising the number to five. That's one sixth of the available podiums. How many more will be covered in black velvet before these two months end?

Once everyone is at the right podium, the Sergeant bangs his gavel. He doesn't seem to be in better mood than before.

"Today the victim is Katsuki Bakugou. Solve it."

Without even bothering to taunt or be as antagonistic as usual, he waves the gavel. Five small photos appear on the podiums.

"When it's time, you shall cast your vote. Write it on paper or put the photo inside the slot, I don't really care about how you do it. What matters is that you actually do it. Start your discussion."

The trial room went completely silent, all the visitors can feel the attentive stares of the townspeople gathered to watch. It's up to them now to find the culprit.

Let the trial begin.

What'd they look like?

[Just saying, it's suspicious. Also, continuing to think bout that mud.]

Those imprints you saw in the dirt. What kind of shapes were they?

Olympia's feet are pretty small. I think she'd make some pretty obvious tracks if it were her.

They were way smaller than my own feet. Some were slightly bigger, where it looked like there was movement.

...Could be. But the only thing that makes me wonder is that it was storming last night. So the ground would be pretty wet, yeah?

And I dunno if you saw the guestbook before people kept adding to it, but I did. Olympia is pretty heavy. That's why I think she'd make tracks, at least more than a couple.

Maybe they washed away, and only the deeper ones stuck. Something like that.

Rain's really good at cleaning away evidence.

[Jughead waves his hand in a 'there you have it' motion.]

Right from the mafia's mouth.

[There's no change in Olympia's expression, so it probably comes as a bit of a shock when she suddenly slams both fists down on her podium, hard.]

My footprints are distinctive. If they were mine, you wouldn't be debating it.

[ok he's taken aback by olympia snapping but-]

If we actually saw them, maybe.

They'd be small, kinda like little deer-prints without the split in 'em.

[she's basically always ready for something to try to kill her so some extra noise is basically whatever]

With the rain muddying the area and us not even seeing the foot that made the print? I don't know about that.

It rained, which means that the prints were changed....and an electrical discharge would probably cause the same kind of damage as Bakugou's explotions...
