[Boy everyone is so bloodthirsty tonight. And now a kid is dead and another is gonna execute. Do y'all need some baskin robbins, because it seems like you do!!! So before everyone can leave, Niwatori raises her voice louder than it's gone before now to draw a little attention, and then deflates immediately when she actually gets it.]

Excuse me, please! U-um... this case was really hard, and I think we could all use some time to cool our heads before we finally go back. So... ice cream? Who's with me?

[she'll lead the pack there and anyone else can go home or to visit Clarisse on the set of Orange is the new Black.

Niwa's not that good of a host though, she just gets her own ice cream and lets everyone serve themselves. Who is she to limit your freedom. (Someone who doesn't want to be partly responsible for a Millium Monstrosity, that's who.)]

[By the time Clarisse ends up in the jail cell, all the energy has been lost from her.

She sits on the floor, her back against the wall, facing the side wall instead of the entrance. Her breaths come so slow and shallow that her chest hardly even rises and falls; if not for how occasionally her unfocused eyes blink, or how tight her arms are folded in front of her if you look close, she could already be dead.

She doesn't acknowledge anyone as they enter. She may not acknowledge them at all.

Her hair has been plaited into a sloppy braid, strands uneven and tangled in places, over one shoulder. The hair pin some of you might have noticed during the pocket check keeps the braid in place—but only barely.]

[Kino accepts the invitation and settles down with blue moon ice cream, serene as ever. This is, legitimately, fine. Everything is as fine as it can possibly be in this scenario.]

[odasaku]

[ well, oda seems to take the offer for ice cream. not because he's a fan of it, but because he just needs to take his mind off of...all of this.

so there he is, sitting in one of the farther away seats with his small cup of vanilla ice cream, because he's a boring, boring man ]

[odasaku]

[ oda's not sure why he visits her in the first place. it's not like they were close...but maybe it's not about that at all.

the point is that, in the evening, oda decides to go to the jail cell, his footsteps quiet and light despite his size. ]

Clarisse. Can we talk?

[snideper]

Not like I can stop you.

[She doesn't look at him, doesn't move at all. Her voice still comes quiet, empty-sounding.]

[And here;s Keith looking like he's not even sure why he agreed to come to this little party. He's standing by himself in the corner with an ice cream cone in hand, Looks like strawberry ice cream of some sort.]

[odasaku]

You could just say no.

[ and yes, oda would have stopped. but she hasn't said no, so he'll continue. ]

Any assassin would've gone after anyone without an ability. Why Bakugou?

[snideper]

I'm not interested in satisfying your curiosity.

[No snark or bite to it, though, just that same weak matter-of-fact tone.]

[The familiarity of this situation-- Oda's never been in this place before. But he has. And even if he would say to Millium's face that he won't stop her... it doesn't stop it from reopening old wounds. Feelings he didn't expect to revisit so often here.

...he's not here to eat.

Instead, he just sits at the chair next to Oda and after five whole seconds of awkward silence and peace--

He flops over; his body leaning against Oda's side.

...caring about people is exhausting. He doesn't know how people do this all the time.]

[Millium does not go to get ice cream with the others, at least, not immediately. Instead, she goes to the cell.

The feeling is different, this time, seeing Clarisse behind those bars. Knowing what she'll be doing come morning. It's different, because there isn't one at all.

She wraps a hand around one of the bars of the cell, keeping a steady gaze on Clarisse as she speaks softly.]

I just want to know. Why him?

[That's all she's here for. She'll go once she gets an answer, but she's not leaving without one.]

[snideper]

[Sucks for Millium, because Clarisse doesn't so much as turn to look at her; doesn't blink, doesn't even breathe any differently.

Something inside her has just...shut off. She may as well not have noticed Millium at all.]

[pecker]

[Niwatori's treating herself with a sundae done similarly to a Japanese parfait, with alternating layers of fruits and ice cream and a big dollop of whipped topping. Although she seemed as nervous as ever when traveling with the group there, her nerves do relax as she takes the first bite. Letting out a little sigh, she fidgets with her spoon as she glances around at the others who came with her. She's actually never done this kind of thing before. It's weird. Should she be trying harder to take everyone's mind off of things? Well, for now, she'll just try to make pleasant with those who have come.]

Hey. I asked you a question.

[You know, as you say to people who are dying.]

Ignoring me isn't gonna change anything.

[odasaku]

It's the end, though. It would be...terrible for you to die without leaving some memory behind.

[snideper]

[Nnnnope. Nothing. Just a silent, dead-eyed stare at the wall.]

[ While Sakura herself takes up the invite, it's only when she's finally eating her strawberry ice cream that she can finally let it all out. She's been burying her feelings, even though she's not very good at it. So it's only when she's eating that the tears start to fall from the sides of her cheeks. And they just don't stop. It's all too much for her. She can't handle it. It's too much. ]

[odasaku]

Mnh-?

[ well, this is a little sudden...but not unwanted either.

oda sighs, noticing dazai's exhaustion. he'll place his free hand on dazai's head, ruffling it a little in comfort. ]

[Dazai attends, but he’s much quieter than usual. And he’s not even bothered helping himself to any of the ice cream. He knows it’s good. But he’s rather exhausted. Caring for people is a tiring practice. But Oda is here and he’s not leaving him to his own right now.

What results is just him kind of wandering about uselessly in a thoughtful daze.

But if you want to talk to him, he’ll listen.]

[snideper]

[She gives a little puff of air, actually, a noise that could have been amused if she made it even an hour ago.]

I am. It's an unpleasant memory for everyone stuck with it, but that's the kind I'm leaving everyone with.

[But she takes no pleasure from that; it's more like there's some irony she recognizes but cannot quite bring herself to appreciate, even if she tries.]

[pecker]

[This IS fine, Niwa is honestly more tired and stressed from being in the trial so long as opposed to any human ties. So she feels comfortable approaching the fine Kino with curiosity.]

Oh... what flavor is that?

[odasaku]

Is this the kind of memory you wanted to leave behind?

[Never been fond of Clarisse or anything, but there's a few things he's curious about still, so he's here to visit. Does he expect to get any answers? No.]

You put up a tough fight.

My wants have only ever been to serve Lady Eremiya. Nothing else matters.

[snideper]

[No response. Normally she preens under praise, but...the compliment isn't worth much, now. Certainly not from Keith.]

[ after eating his own boring, vanilla ice cream, oda goes to check on sakura. after all, millium seems to be doing much better than most of them.

but when he sees sakura crying, oda knows that he has to do something for her...although he doesn't know what. ]

Hey.

[ he'll sit next to her and wrap an arm around her in a comforting gesture. to show her that she's not alone. ]
