Week 7: Investigation

The night comes and goes. Whether it's quiet is anyone's guess, but the sun rises as usual, though blocked partially by cloud.

The Sergeant's weekly endeavor destroy your reputation seems to have backfired. Another ghostly communication resulted in some emotional catharsis, for some of you. Perhaps there's the sense that things may be improving...

...But the threat to keep your loved ones here still hangs heavy in the air. It's not just your lives on the line, not anymore. That must be on everyone's minds. By sunset today, Cartesio's set to have a whole bunch of new residents, if the Sergeant has anything to say about it. On top of that, your deadline to receive a medal's almost up.

For that reason, despite the steps forward you've made this week, Friday's sunrise brings dread. What chances are there that all of you are still alive? Do you even want that, with the Sergeant's over your heads?

Whatever your feelings are, the town still beckons to you. Investigate, if you feel up to it.

[ that sure was an announcement but there's a part of her that's relieved in some ways, because, well. at least it was just one death? man, Sakura's perception of death is now extremely skewed, thanks Cartesio. anyway! coming back to the park. what do we got at a first glance? ]

[Footprints. That's what you have at first glance. Hm! It's a good thing this park is full of malleable dirt and mud sometimes]

[ .... oh let's not step on those, then. clarification time: how big are these footprints, from what kind of shoe do they look like they're from aaaand which direction are they going (towards the park or away?) ]

[Good eye for detail. Here's your answers: they're partial footprints, leaning towards the larger size, but you can't say for sure. Since they're partial, there's a lot of information missing here.

At least you can tell where they're going, they lead from the motel area towards the hospital/pharmacy building]

[ larger footprints, even though they're partial is good to know at least. anyway, duly noted. also another clarification question, in case it's relevant: can we tell the stride of these footprints? like are they closer together or pretty far apart from each other? besides that, she'll be sidestepping them as she goes into the park to check if there's anything else she can find here besides those. ]

There's the pond. That seems to be a prime spot to put evidence at, ever since the mock week, after all]

[ .......are. are we going to have to go swimming. or is it something that she can just look at from outside of the pond? like. is something floating in there? ]

[Luckily for you, you're not going swimming today, because there seems to be something right at the shore of the pond. It's rocks. Multiple rocks.

Careful when stepping over there, Sakura. They're rather pointy and jagged]

[ oh thank goodness because while she would 100% swim for evidence, she also does not want to show up to trial in completely soaked clothes. save her.

nevertheless, those sure are rocks, huh.

a few more clarifications: what are the sizes of said rocks, and is there anything on these... rocks... like blood. or anything unusual, besides their pointy-ness? ]

[Nothing like blood and stuff, but there's clear signs that someone took several of these rocks. Sizable ones, of the size of her fist]

[clearities]

[ okay, are there any signs that the rocks that were taken were moved naturally in any way or are there any abnormalities about that? ]

[cartesio]

[Yeah, looks like someone simply grabbed them, like anyone would. If she takes one, she'll see the imprint left by the rock she took is identical to the other imprints]
