Week 7: Investigation

The night comes and goes. Whether it's quiet is anyone's guess, but the sun rises as usual, though blocked partially by cloud.

The Sergeant's weekly endeavor destroy your reputation seems to have backfired. Another ghostly communication resulted in some emotional catharsis, for some of you. Perhaps there's the sense that things may be improving...

...But the threat to keep your loved ones here still hangs heavy in the air. It's not just your lives on the line, not anymore. That must be on everyone's minds. By sunset today, Cartesio's set to have a whole bunch of new residents, if the Sergeant has anything to say about it. On top of that, your deadline to receive a medal's almost up.

For that reason, despite the steps forward you've made this week, Friday's sunrise brings dread. What chances are there that all of you are still alive? Do you even want that, with the Sergeant's over your heads?

Whatever your feelings are, the town still beckons to you. Investigate, if you feel up to it.

[after hearing the Sergeant's announcement, Osomatsu comes back to the hangar. what's really out of place in here upon first glance?]

[Nothing seems to be out of place...but there seems to have been a few changes over here.

More concretely, missing stuff. It's a good thing stuff in this hangar is organized and dirty at the same time, stuff that gets taken leaves impressions and indications something used to be there.

The stuff piled near the back wall, for example. Quite a noticeable pile! Ready to dive in?]

[nope! but Osomatsu's going to do it anyway, because that pile seems out of place. what is he looking at back here?]

[Gasoline canisters, for one. Piled in a very flammable pyramid. One is missing, judging by an imprint in spilled gasoline]

[UM. that's a little frightening! Osomatsu makes note of that. anything else off about these canisters?]

[cartesio]

[Nothing particularly off! There's a short metal pipe right to their side, though. Apparently it comes from what used to be a pile of pipes. It's reasonable to guess that the reason why all the pipes are now spilled is because one was taken]

[oh. let's get a closer look at the pipe! how long is it? and does it look like it's been used for devilish purposes?]

[cartesio]

[From the pipe Osomatsu takes, he can determine it's rather sturdy, made of metal, and although it's not long, it's certainly wide, enough for Osomatsu to barely stick a hand inside. Nothing's inside, though. It's hollow.

It's pretty much a guarantee the pipe that was taken here has all those same qualities.]

[alright. noting the missing pipe, and missing gasoline canister. someone had fun, didn't they?

anything else off about the pile? are there more missing things?]

[You bet there are. Thankfully for Osomatsu, this is the last item. It's...

...something. Do you know mechanics, Osomatsu? If not, then you should ask someone here in the hangar. They'll be able to tell you those are pressurized air canisters, and that you should be careful with it. Handle carefully, if you're taking one with you]

[he's not taking one with him right now... and, yeah, he's going to ask about those canisters if someone else is around. he has no idea what they are...

for clarification, are the gas canisters and air canisters two different things? if so, is one of the air canisters missing?]

[Indeed, they're two different things! And yes, there's an air canister missing]
