Week 7: Trial

When everyone arrives at the trial room, the tribunes are already filled with townspeople. Until now, the public had been so angry, waiting to see what the outsiders would do. Now they're calmer. Not indifferent, just waiting to see what will happen.

There are so few of you left. So few people, surrounded by a town that once hated you, and now don't know what to think. Will this trial change their opinions of you again?

Maybe that doesn't matter. You're here to solve a murder, after all.

"Today the victim is Kinzie Kensington. This may be the last chance any of you get the chance to earn a medal. Let's see if this culprit gets away with it successfully."

You receive your list of suspects. Five small photos appear on the podiums.

            

"When it's time, you shall cast your vote. It has been a while since there was one culprit."

The trial room went completely silent, all the visitors can feel the attentive stares of the townspeople gathered to watch. It's up to them now to find the culprit.

Let the trial begin.

Look. All I'm saying is that it may not be in our best interest to vote for Bolin.

[robitussin]

Yeah, and I'm asking you what you'd recommend as an alternative.

[Quiet for a moment and then:]

Just vote for me, alright. It's fine.

[robitussin]

[She definitely suspected that's where it was going, but now that it's confirmed, her response is immediate and fiery.]

No. We need you, too, okay? No fucking way.

I'm not going to tell you or anyone else how to vote.

Just that the group has to come first.

[robitussin]

Why do you always act like you don't matter?

[She drags a hand through her hair.]

You're an important part of the group, too, okay?! Would you be fine with it if anyone else tried to make that offer?

No, because at that point we'd be risking a tie and I don't want someone random to die.

[ ok he's running over to keith to grab him ]

I'm not taking the fall for you. It's a matter of maximizing our odds of everyone getting out of here by next week.

[tuffguy]

Telling people to vote for you? That's taking the fall because you're the one who's going to get punished instead of me. And in case you don't realize it, you're part of everyone here.

[for a moment there, Osomatsu was getting a little worried. he doesn't have anything that could help them defeat Sarge. no weapons, no skills, no magic powers...

I'm not gonna tell you how to vote, Osomatsu. But you shouldn't vote against the collective interests of the group.

Uh, to me it sounds like no one wants to vote for you, or Bolin. What do you think you're doing, trying to be a martyr, here? Aren't you, like, our leader? Don't you have to protect Natalie?
