week seven afterparty

[ so how is everyone doing today? pretty badly, I'd assume, but there's so little of them left, not to mention that Bolin is going to get executed because of an accident. on top of that, there's the confusion coming from the public.

so what's going on.

today's going to be a little different - as Sakura seeks everyone out. she knows it's tough, but given the circumstances, she wants to invite everyone to meet her in front of the police station.

yeah.

we're having a jail cell afterparty, apparently. oh, and she's brought pancakes because... you all probably need that after. All of This. of course people can always ignore her request and just go somewhere else, but where are you tonight? ]

...That you want to be together...? Like a couple?

[There is so much uncertainty towards the end of that sentence now that she's making him second guess.]

[robitussin]

Okay, because you sounded like you thought being together was just, like, existing in the same area, and...

[A beat, looking towards him for a brief moment before glancing away.]

But, um. Yes.

[marmoron]

I mean..that is what I thought you were talking about.

[He looks away sheepishly.]

But I got it. I ... yeah.

[robitussin]

You, yeah...?

[She pauses for a moment, but then:]

...I'm sorry, I just really need you to say what you actually want.

[marmoron]

[Aaaand now he just feels awkward. There's no reason for it, all things considered, but the idea of being someone's boyfriend or having a girlfriend just feels surreal. It's so utterly normal, but so far removed from his own comfort zones.]

I... [Okay he can get through this. Maybe.] I want to be with you, too..

[Grump.]

Obviously.

[robitussin]

[It takes a moment, but she laughs, equal parts stressed and amused.]

You don't have to sound so angry about it, you know.

[marmoron]

[He glances at her, tension somewhat fading with her laughter.]

You just don't know how weird this is for me, okay?

]Just gonna rub his forehead for a few seconds, but if she's paying close enough attention there is maybe a tiiiiny smile there, too.]

I thought you were really annoying at first.

[robitussin]

...I don't even remember the first time we talked.

[A half laugh.]

That probably sounds horrible, but - remind me?

[marmoron]

It's not that memorable.

[Oops, maybe that's also equally bad.]

I was just already stressed out from half the people here getting on my case for buying out the hunting store when you started going on about how weird the info on my guestbook page was.

[robitussin]

I probably... could have at least been nicer about that.

[Even if she doesn't sound too sorry about it. Either way, she remembers the encounter he's talking about now.]

...It feels like a really long time ago.

[marmoron]

Two months ago almost.

[The motel was a whole lot less empty back then, huh.]

A lot of things happened that I didn't think would.

[A beat.]

Glad I called some things right though.

[robitussin]

[Tilting her head, she glances his way again.]

...Yeah? What things did you guess right?

[marmoron]

For starters, I knew there was going to be a way to get the dead back.

[Grinning slightly.]

And I was right about you making it all the way to the end even if you didn't believe me at the time.

[robitussin]

...To be fair, there wasn't a way to really know either of those things until recently.

[marmoron]

Doesn't change the fact that I called it right.

[robitussin]

...Yeah.

[Another pause, shifting so her legs are tucked beneath her.]

Thanks for... trying to convince me of the second one.

[marmoron]

[Stated somewhat quietly while not quite making eye contact.]

Should have more faith in yourself.

[robitussin]

...I don't think this is really the kind of place to get complacent about something like that.

[She exhales.]

But... I get what you mean.

[marmoron]

[He shakes his head.]

It's not about being complacent. It's about not underestimating yourself and what you're capable of.

[There's a pause, but he looks directly at her when he continues.]

I've fought alongside a lot of people back home. You're just as brave as any of them.

[robitussin]

...A bunch of the people who've died here have been pretty brave.

[She continues after a moment, though.]
