Seven days have passed. Quite peaceful days, almost too peaceful. The town has welcomed you, excited to see tourists for the first time in many, many,
many years. Some may have liked the peace, others may have been annoyed by it, but it was undeniable Cartesio seemed like such a nice and safe place it was hard to believe you had been told to kill each other.
But the threat is still up in the air. What's more: how much patience does the Sergeant have left?
Every time you take a look into the Lodge, you see the Sergeant. Lately he's looking more and more annoyed. Even though you can't see his face, you can feel he's getting frustrated. How long will it be before he lashes out and does something about these peaceful days?
Nobody in the town could suspect the harrowing times that'd befall Cartesio.
When you wake up on Sunday, you'll find
new maps in the map rack and brochures on the table, showing places you hadn't noticed in the town before. Enjoy!

Niwa really doesn't need to confirm his suspicions either way. It's likely that he's bluffing just in case. But on the other hand, there really are plenty of birds, so maybe she's a little impressed he was keeping an eye out in the first place. And then, she can't overlook what was in the page he turned to as he checked. Useful, huh? Well... that's a little bit of a confidence booster, isn't it?
Well, he won't miss her since he still lives there, eventually she shows up, gets a glass of the famous orange juice, and after a moment where she appears a little nervous, swivels around on the barstool to face him.]
So... um. Was I really that obvious? Or did you just kinda guess?
[This isn't an apology.]

[When spying on people, it might be more effective to leave them wondering than speak to them afterwards. Jughead wasn’t sure, and was riding on a guess, but it seems it paid off.]
What can I do for you?

It would be harder to kill her that way.
She lightly bonks herself on the head with a fist.]
Ooh, darn it! But oh well. At least I know that much hasn't changed with my ability. For some reason the birds around here are a little bit harder to manage, so it could be pretty bad for me if they were actually acting weird and I didn't know it.
[She takes a sip of her juice, thinking on his question.]
Besides, shouldn't I be asking you that? B-Because... I thought if you wrote those things, you were probably trying to get my attention or... something.

They were more of an observation. [Notes to follow up on, but it seems he didn't have to do much of the legwork himself.] But, yeah, you think you could help me?

[FAST agreement. She thinks she should explain...]
I'm still sort of trying to find my place here... having something to do seems like a good enough start. But what did you have in mind?

[He holds up the notebook, gives it a little shake, then puts it back down.]
There's a lot going on, and I can't have eyes everywhere.
But you can.

[Still, she hasn't gotten to read all of it. He's not the only one she's tailing, after all.]
What kind of book is it?

[Anything helps, and to have the chance of catching anything is vital. He’s not sure just what might turn up, but this decision definitely won’t hurt.]
A murder-mystery. Heavy on the mystery, we’ll see about the murder.
