Seven days have passed. Quite peaceful days, almost too peaceful. The town has welcomed you, excited to see tourists for the first time in many, many,
many years. Some may have liked the peace, others may have been annoyed by it, but it was undeniable Cartesio seemed like such a nice and safe place it was hard to believe you had been told to kill each other.
But the threat is still up in the air. What's more: how much patience does the Sergeant have left?
Every time you take a look into the Lodge, you see the Sergeant. Lately he's looking more and more annoyed. Even though you can't see his face, you can feel he's getting frustrated. How long will it be before he lashes out and does something about these peaceful days?
Nobody in the town could suspect the harrowing times that'd befall Cartesio.
When you wake up on Sunday, you'll find
new maps in the map rack and brochures on the table, showing places you hadn't noticed in the town before. Enjoy!

SUNDAY - APRIL 8th
NEWSPAPER
It seems like all the hard work the citizens of Cartesio put into the welcome party paid off, as many of the visitors were spotted enjoying the town's hospitality at the casino welcome party. Visitors were provided with formalwear, as a gift from the town. Make yourselves at home, strangers! With residents and visitors alike living it up, its the most attention the business has gotten in some time.
In fact, many businesses seem to be enjoying an economic boom thanks to the guests of the town, and not just the hunting store! Mrs. Lucille Mitchell has reported an increase in customers as of late, and an increase in those asking for take-out. While baffled, she encourages all guests to come and take a load off, if they'd like.]

[Franciscus is definitely intrigued by this clinic that has suddenly shown up. He makes his way to the pharmacy first, investigating to see what kind of medicines they have, and if there are any specifically from his world, or that he doesn't recognize and might be from other worlds. Though he'll eventually flag down an employee as well.]
Excuse me, but how busy is your job? It seems like there's little need for a clinic in this town, after all.

investigation + warning: motion sickness
Sure, there's a ton of fun places around here, but right now? There's one thing he's just gotta try. No need to guess what it is, 'cause the second Sting is in the fire station he heads right up to the pole. Hell. Yeah. This is gonna be awesome! ... and it is, for about five seconds. 'cause as soon as he hops on the pole and starts his dramatic descent, he realizes what a mistake that was.
The whole slide down is painful to watch, honestly. Sting is less sliding and more clutching the pole pathetically as it squeals in protest from his slow-motion descent. This? Yeah, this doesn't work. When he finally reaches the ground after a way too long fall, he drops down onto the floor, sweating and gasping. Yup, that sucked.
After the whole fire pole fiasco, you'd think he would've had enough of the place but, nah. He sticks around a little longer to investigate the station and check out the fire truck. He won't be getting in it anytime soon, but he is absolutely trying to open the hood up and see if he can find any lacrima.
When he's done messing around over there, Sting heads to the park. No messing around here, all he does is walk around looking for something to do. Mostly, he passively chases a couple of ducks and searches for flowers. You can catch him doing either of these things if you want. ]

MONDAY - APRIL 9th
NEWSPAPER
Our local fire station is celebrating its anniversary today. Though volunteer fire men founded our fire brigade in 1920, it did not move to its current well-equipped building until 50 years ago on this very day.
To commemorate this occasion, the fire brigade is holding a party at the station that will last from 10am to 5pm. Focus of this event is fire safety education - interested civilians are welcome to tour the station and get instructions on how to use the equipment. Free drinks and barbecue will be provided.
---
Post on Monday a top-level including the fire station or tag someone's top-level about the fire station to receive a fireman-themed exclusive item!]

Which is why people can find her looking rather stunned when they're having yet another party, similarly to how there was something at the casino.
She glances at the nearest person as she takes a sip of her drink, her voice full of awe. ]
They like to throw parties a lot, don't they?
[ A little later in the day, people might find Sakura collecting newspapers-- it seems that she's trying to collect them? How strange. ]

This is the story of a town. A small town. No, no - he already did that. He can't be boxing himself into a creative corner already.
This is a story of strangers. Thirty newcomers to a town...
Around him are the torn pages from his notebook, some with details of the past events, some with peoples' names on them, and several small details.
He's in there for a good long while, working and eating, but eventually he stretches his legs to go to the abandoned building and check it out some. He walks around with some care, but perhaps not enough for how fragile the place looks, and heads up to the second floor. No prizes for guessing what happened here.]
Looks like someone needed a party on fire safety.

TUESDAY - APRIL 10th
MOTIVE
[That was sudden. You were minding your own business, without bothering anyone in town, and then the Sergeant approaches you, tells you that, and goes away. Once you get to the Lodge later it’s obvious you’re not the only one who received such a concise order.
Once everyone is at the Lodge, the Sergeant enters, the entrance doors closing behind him noisily, trapping everybody inside the Lodge]
I had enough of all of you. It has been more than a week and none of you did a thing!
[He stomps to the front, throwing his arms to the air with frustration. No military protocol or anything! He’s that upset]
I thought I’d give you time to get used to this town. I thought I’d give you days to do things at your own pace, I’d even refrain from asking for favors until after the first murder! But no! None of you did a single thing! There hasn’t even been plans to kill someone! All you guys can do is...you all know what you have done!
[He shouts:]
And that’s enough! I’m sick of waiting! This is what I get for showing a bit of kindness towards you all, and I won’t let this happen anymore. We’re doing this the way it should have been done from the start!
[Behind him, a large screen descends from the ceiling. One by one, images flash on the screen. They’re short videos of people you know. The settings all are familiar, homely, almost peaceful]
You haven’t forgotten about all these people, have you? These people you know, you love, and would certainly miss you if anything happened to you. Well listen here: if you kill someone and get away with it, not only you’ll be able to leave the town in two months, I’ll also allow you contact anyone you want. No strings attached.
[The videos on the screen keep changing. Individual people, groups of people. It’s people you’d like to get in contact with, for one reason or another]
I’ll even give you any information you want to tell them. You’d have to be a fool not to take this chance.
[The videos end, the screen returns to the ceiling. The entrance doors open again, looks like you’re free to go, but not without some final parting words:]
But you’d do well to remember this also means I know who they are and where they are. Keep that in mind too.
This is your last warning. You have until Friday at sundown.
[The Sergeant refuses to engage in conversation from there on]

Re: MOTIVE
(no subject)
NEWSPAPER
There's a possibility of a break-in attempt into one of the rooms of the fire station. This event wasn't reported to the police, instead this reporter discovered this when visiting the scene of the incident. The current fire station chief noticed two holes on one of the doors in the building. Some patching later, all they have to say is 'I have to make axes with whatever steel broke through these doors'.
There were no losses other than the mahogany wood the door was once made of.
What a thief or a vandal may have wanted to do at the fire station is unclear. Please send your theories to the following postal office box.
[Once again, the address is blurry. The printing press really needs to be fixed]
In the meanwhile, we strongly advise you reinforce any doors in your residences. Is this the start of a wave of petty crimes that will blight our beloved town?

[Today sees Kino walking to the station to pay the officers a visit. Despite the Sergeant's motive, Kino remains as pleasant and calm towards them as ever.]
Excuse me. Do you have a moment?
[Park - Dinnertime, open]
[Kino chooses a time when hopefully people are eating or considering food, but, well. The sound of gunshots is rather loud.
A metal plate from the junkyard hangs from a branch, and Kino wears the usual black jacket for warmth. Standing at ready, there's a flash of motion as the teen pulls the revolver from its holster and fires in one swift, fluid movement, a clang of a bullet against metal signaling its strike - dead center, enough to send the plate spinning up and over the branch.
Kino fires several more times as it swings, each being met by the sound of metal hitting metal. By the time the plate has stopped swinging, all that can be seen are precise little dents, all in the center.
Kino holsters the revolver and moves to collect the bullets where they fell. Surely none of this is suspicious whatsoever.]

As such, she heads to the diner. She has a notebook with her, but the perceptive will notice that she isn't writing any words. Instead, it looks as though she's scribbling down notes on some hastily drawn out sheet music. She's preoccupied enough that she'll only notice anybody else around if they approach or speak to her.
Later on in the evening, as the sun is setting, she can be found near the pond. Her boots are sitting beside her and her leggings are rolled up so she can dangle her feet in the water without getting her clothing wet. She alternates from glancing towards the water to looking up at the horizon. All the same, should she notice somebody come nearby:]

MEETING TIME
First of all, we cannot be tempted by that motive. But I understand that not all the people shown may be as capable as my team, and that did sound like a threat. But it is highly unlikely he will move to attempting to kill them right away. That would eliminate the leverage he has over us. It is much more likely that further motives will offer more potential opportunities for interaction with them. We can have patience and find some other way back.
Secondly, I imagine most of you here have been taking the initiative to explore this town on your own. I encourage you to share whatever you have learned. I myself have been investigating the clinic, and I have learned that apparently it stocks medicines from my world, though there are also many unfamiliar ones.
Last, I would like to hear if anyone here has further ideas on how to prevent a murder from occurring.

It's the most 'like home' place in all of Cartesio. It smells sterile, people are quiet, there's health written all over it. Yet at the same time, it's the most unlike home to Cian. All of the equipment is outdated, the injuries of patients seem outlandishly severe for Cian's standards... You'll find her simply walking up and down the hallways, lost deeply in thought after the motive announcement earlier today.
You can also find her in the pharmacy, running her hands over the different medicine packages or picking some up and reading the information on their backs carefully.
In the evening though, you'll spot Cian in the motel lodge. She's flipping through the guestbook and murmuring to herself. ]

Still, the idea of contacting someone...that gets his attention. It's just that he'll do it on his own terms.
Morning
The abandoned building seems like a good place to start. Moloch enters and ascends to the second floor, examining the place. So much is burned...but maybe there's something useful? He manages to kick a wall open, and if someone somehow enters at that moment, he beckons them]
Hey, take these gloves and help me pull out the wiring over here.
[This vandalism is productive, he swears.
Once he has enough, he goes to the junkyard, and gets to work. It's hard to do without good tools, all he has is rusty stuff he got from around the junkyard. He's managing to make progress despite that, though. Which is admirable! The problem is that the radio he's trying to make is...well, made from scrap. It'd be an herculean feat.
At least he's motivated, even if right now he's upset]
This is going to take ages!

It's no surprise that he went off by himself and the blond wandered into the abandoned building. If someone's trailing behind him, he'll turn to face them with a glare (if not and they're there before he was, he'll just send them a glare anyway.) ]
What the hell are you doing here?
[ However, at some point, Bakugou's hanging nearby the fire station, side-eying the people there, but decides shortly after to make his departure. Should he run into anyone as he is and they happen to be looking in his direction (or he thinks they are), the blond will give them a look. ]
What?
[ Towards the later part of the day, he can be found in the park, and seeming to stare angrily at the ducks. If anyone's walking nearby, the blond will turn to give them a displeased look, but then look away. ]

DISAPPEARANCE
He successfully got to the outskirts, peered into the infinite-looking expanse, and started walking. It took only a few minutes before something happened. This time, though, the Sergeant went to confront the rulebreaker by himself. Mako barely had time to try to defend himself before he was knocked out, a shock on the back of his neck making him faint.
Anyone who is at the motel will hear a patrol car outside, passing rather slowly. Looking at it will let them see Mako, unconscious, his face leaning against the window. On the driver's seat there's the Sergeant. Given how Mako had made clear he was interested in seeing what'd happen if someone tried to leave the town, it's easy to guess why he's been captured. The last anyone saw of Mako was he being taken towards the Lodge.
Mako is dead.]

WEDNESDAY - APRIL 11th
NEWSPAPER
Our beloved ice cream shop is close to opening again! After the tragedy of March 31st, the shop was closed, scheduled to go under renovations. The exact nature of these renovations wasn't mentioned to this reporter, but given this store's involvement in the crime, we can only guess a very thorough cleaning was done.
[That's...definitely not the kind of thing a newspaper article should say. The article continues, without many qualms about its professionalism:]
Renovations are scheduled to be completed on April 15th. We hope to see you there once it reopens!

THURSDAY - APRIL 12th
NEWSPAPER
[The newspaper today is rather alarming. The usual friendliness is gone, replaced with a direct and almost accusatory tone]
Alarming events last night! The cinema has been assaulted! This is another breaking and entering commotion, following close to those from the police station and the fire station.
All available clues point at the visitors that arrived to Cartesio a week and half ago. The recordings from the security camera depict several of the visitors, destroying the concession stand of the cinema and causing a mess in the projection room. The first sign the cinema had, once preserved on the wall of the warehouse, is also missing.
With this indisputable proof, it's a certainty the tourists are the ones responsible for this crime. The town of Cartesio must ask: what shall be done about this offense to our beloved town?
-------
Starting from Thursday, there's a change in the townspeople's behavior: the usual warm greetings and eager-to-please demeanor are gone. Everyone maintains the cordiality, but it's more akin to tolerance than to happiness at the presence of the tourists.]
