WEEK 2: April 8th - April 12th

Second Week

Seven days have passed. Quite peaceful days, almost too peaceful. The town has welcomed you, excited to see tourists for the first time in many, many, many years. Some may have liked the peace, others may have been annoyed by it, but it was undeniable Cartesio seemed like such a nice and safe place it was hard to believe you had been told to kill each other.

But the threat is still up in the air. What's more: how much patience does the Sergeant have left?

Every time you take a look into the Lodge, you see the Sergeant. Lately he's looking more and more annoyed. Even though you can't see his face, you can feel he's getting frustrated. How long will it be before he lashes out and does something about these peaceful days?

Nobody in the town could suspect the harrowing times that'd befall Cartesio.

When you wake up on Sunday, you'll find new maps in the map rack and brochures on the table, showing places you hadn't noticed in the town before. Enjoy!

[ Strangely enough, Sakura finds her way to the police station-- she thinks that it might be the best place to ask a few pertinent questions. Of course, she also has pen and paper at the ready, too, since it might be important if she takes a few notes on what she ends up hearing.

But she does pipe up whenever she sees someone inside, of course. ]

Um, excuse me...! Can I ask you a few questions really quick? I was thinking that this would be the best place to ask them.

[ After having any questions answered (or... not answered, who knows) Sakura can be found in front of room 19, her motel room with a huge stack of paper. What is she planning on doing with all that paper?


Spoilers: she seems to actually be folding some origami. Specifically, cranes. Mysterious. ]

[ As usual, Nanette takes interest when she sees one of the tourists. One of the younger ones, around here? ]

Well, of course. What is it you want to know?

[clearities]

Oh! [ She didn't expect such an easy response, but thankfully Sakura knows what she wants to ask. ] Um... I wanted to know if there were any other holidays or celebrations I should be aware of in the city. Since I was really surprised by the fire station anniversary on Monday.

[cartesio]

[ What a jumpy kid. Kind of cute, honestly. ]

Well... I can't really think of anything, off the top of my head. The cinema's annual spring film fest, in a few weeks, might be the closest to a holiday you'll get.

[clearities]

A spring film fest? [ Her emerald eyes seem to almost glow with excitement. ] That sounds like a lot of fun! [ Oh, but she's getting ahead of herself. ] Does the police station have an anniversary, too? It's okay if it's not going to happen while I'm here, but I'm interested in knowing a little bit more of the town so I can tell my dad when I go home. [ Sakura frets a bit awkwardly, seeming a little embarrassed. ] If... that's okay.

[cartesio]

[ While she's kind of suspicious of the tourists, after Keith's...everything, this kid really does seem sweet. Nanette can't help but smile. ]

It's January 15th, so you've kind of missed it. While I'm sure the town would be elated to have you stay for that long, I think some of you'd get a little homesick. [ After a moment: ] I didn't expect such a young girl to be so interested in our town. It's surprising, but...very nice.

[clearities]

[ And in return to Nanette's own smile, Sakura herself seems to smile. ] I'll remember the date, at least, even if I do go back before the next one. [ Since... she's fairly certain she will. ] My dad's an archaeology professor, so I wanted to share as much as I could find out about this town with him, since he likes that sort of thing. I'm sure he'll be really happy about hearing about the things I learned about this town.

[cartesio]

Is that so? In that case, I hope you learn as much as you can.

[ This girl's sweet and pure. ]

[clearities]

I will, thank you-- oh! Do you know if there would be any good places to learn more about the town, in that case? [ She is absolutely determined. ]

[cartesio]

I'd say the library. That'd have everything you need.

[clearities]

There's a library?

Well, yeah. If you head towards the park and take a left, about a block down, you'll reach it. You can see it from the fire station.

[ ...Suffice to say, if Sakura's been by that area, she wouldn't have seen it. ]

[clearities]

I see... [ She doesn't want to say anything about how she hasn't seen it, lest she ends up sounding crazy, so instead she just bows politely from the waist. ] Thank you very much, miss! You were really helpful in answering my questions.

[cartesio]

You're very welcome. Really, I appreciate the politeness. Some of your, uh...companions, I'll say, have been a little...pushy.

[ shout-out to keith, getting himself arrested ]

Room 19

[silvertongueheir]

Do you plan to make a thousand of those? [Franciscus bends over to take a look at how many she's done so far.] I've heard of that legend, that if you do so you can summon Jirachi to meet you in your dreams and grant your dearest wish. [A pause] Though I suppose it would be different for you.

[clearities]

I was planning to. The story is very similar from what you've heard... except you don't summon Jirachi? I was thinking that maybe it would help get us all back home.

[silvertongueheir]

[He nods.] It is worth a try. Have you asked Millium for help? She seems to enjoy papercrafts.

[clearities]

Mm... even if it doesn't work, at least it means something important.

[silvertongueheir]

[He nods.] It shows you have faith in our ability to escape. [A pause as he bends down more.] Would you mind if I contributed one myself?

[clearities]

I wouldn't mind at all! Go ahead.

[silvertongueheir]

[He smiles as he picks up a metallic-colored piece of paper, and starts folding it, using a different variation on the crane folds, eventually producing a blade-winged avian. There's a pause as he compares it to Sakura's designs.]

I hope this works for your project. Though it seems...quite distinct from your version.

[clearities]

No, that's... really amazing!

[silvertongueheir]

Why thank you. It's meant to represent a Skarmory. They're quite angular in real life, as well.

[clearities]

... A Skarmory? Is that one of the 'Pokemon' you've talked about?

[silvertongueheir]

[He nods.] They're Steel/Flying types, though their actual colors are closer to silver and red.
