Seven days have passed. Quite peaceful days, almost too peaceful. The town has welcomed you, excited to see tourists for the first time in many, many,
many years. Some may have liked the peace, others may have been annoyed by it, but it was undeniable Cartesio seemed like such a nice and safe place it was hard to believe you had been told to kill each other.
But the threat is still up in the air. What's more: how much patience does the Sergeant have left?
Every time you take a look into the Lodge, you see the Sergeant. Lately he's looking more and more annoyed. Even though you can't see his face, you can feel he's getting frustrated. How long will it be before he lashes out and does something about these peaceful days?
Nobody in the town could suspect the harrowing times that'd befall Cartesio.
When you wake up on Sunday, you'll find
new maps in the map rack and brochures on the table, showing places you hadn't noticed in the town before. Enjoy!

An arrow sticks out of the bird's chest. Of course it does.
"Feel free" might be pushing it, given who she is as a person, but you are certainly able to find Clarisse shooting birds out of the sky from right nearby a cluster of trees, or you can wait until she comes over to collect her arrows.
At a more reasonable hour in the AM, Clarisse gets breakfast in the diner. Usually she just takes her food and leaves, lest she run the risk of having to interact with a person, but today she sits at a table and...g...reets? greets??? anyone foolish enough to come close.]
You catch the commotion this morning? And after Sarge carted that guy out last night, too.
[mmm it's never good when she's looking this fucking smug about things, is it. also what the fuck these events happened in the early AM following the previous late night, clarisse when do you SLEEP]
diner ofc
What happened?

I'm a writer, it's kind of what I do. Is there a problem?
[He doesn't actually care how she feels about it, and it's clear in how he asks the question.]

Bunch of police came by the motel earlier. Someone got himself caught.
no subject
[He's already on the note taking.]
And that someone...
[Look, you don't even have to be a detective to work it out. Clarisse just reveling in it is enough, but combined with the talk at the meeting...]
Keith?

You know it. And—ugh, I don't know, early? It looked like he just rolled out of bed.
[there is absolutely nothing about this she doesn't find funny]

park because what is nine's preservation
Huh? What the hell?
[ It's almost like being around Trey but Trey would have given a heads up. Nine picks up the arrow to investigate. Oh, that looks familiar. ]
no subject
Oh, it's you. [ugh.] Give me my arrow.
no subject
Hey, did you do that with only one shot?
[ Looking at the size of the bird and still holding the arrow. He does notice the quiver seeming lighter, but he didn't see any other arrows flying over head. ]
no subject
Yeah, obviously. Give me my arrow.

[ Want more reasons for compliments from him. He'll wave her to come closer to collect the arrow. ]

christ
she still stays out of immediate arm's length but comes close enough that he can place the arrow into her hand when she holds it out.]
I'm not gonna say it again.

Park
Several layers of 'holy shit' actually because for one the sight of the dead bird just flopping down is severely upsetting but on the other hand, that sure is some marksmanship. And then back to the first hand, that poor bird. ]
... aren't there any other targets you could use?
cw mild animal gore........
[When she walks over, she yanks the arrow out of the bird corpse without much pretense or care for what happens to the bird guts in the process. Gross.]

Maybe they sell balloons somewhere in town?
no subject

Are you saving it for later?

[That, and run off with one of Clarisse's arrows.]

[she doesn't believe her at all]
There are some more dead birds around the place if you hate the diner's breakfast so much.
