WEEK 2: April 8th - April 12th

Second Week

Seven days have passed. Quite peaceful days, almost too peaceful. The town has welcomed you, excited to see tourists for the first time in many, many, many years. Some may have liked the peace, others may have been annoyed by it, but it was undeniable Cartesio seemed like such a nice and safe place it was hard to believe you had been told to kill each other.

But the threat is still up in the air. What's more: how much patience does the Sergeant have left?

Every time you take a look into the Lodge, you see the Sergeant. Lately he's looking more and more annoyed. Even though you can't see his face, you can feel he's getting frustrated. How long will it be before he lashes out and does something about these peaceful days?

Nobody in the town could suspect the harrowing times that'd befall Cartesio.

When you wake up on Sunday, you'll find new maps in the map rack and brochures on the table, showing places you hadn't noticed in the town before. Enjoy!

[Thank goodness you're here, Jughead! Someone with a delicate touch that won't shatter this machine in one fell swoop!

Peeking into the projection machine reveals there's something metallic between the film reels. Careful when taking it out, you don't want to mangle your fingers]

[With hands boasting of great projector experience, he tries to delicately pick out that thing jammed in there. Hopefully his fingers don't get mangled, he needs those to write.]

[It's a close call, but your fingers are still intact, Jughead. Getting the object out shows it's a key, generic-looking key you'd find anywhere. Okay then!]

[burgerprince]

[Ok that's nice but now he has to set the film reels back into place because that's a priority.

Then look around the room for what this unlocks i GUESS]

[There seems to be a door near the film reel rack. Testing it shows it's locked.

Guess you know where to go next, once you have cleared this room]

[Just gonna try the key in it there. For when we're all ready to go.]

[The door is open! Thank you for your efforts, Jughead]

[ Annnnd a little later after the reels happen and a fit of impatience, if Bakugou walks right in, what's going on past the door? ]

[ Bolin follows after Bakugou, because someone needs to babysit keep him company ]

[HEY SUP JUGHEAD, Kino will walk over (persuader now holstered!) with a thin metal sheet thingy.]

This... isn't part of a projector, is it?

[burgerprince]

Nope. It's a key.

[How the hell it gets stuck in a projector, he doesn't know.

He holds it up, then flips it in his hand.]

What've you got there?

[quickpersuader]

I'm not sure. It's a thin piece of metal with a design on it.

[Kino can... generally figure out mechanics unless they're super advanced, but definitely does not have enough familiarity to place any random given part.]

Maybe the lines are significant for something?

[burgerprince]

Some kind of abstract art? Where there's a deeper meaning.

[Probably not.]

[quickpersuader]

[Praise the funyarinpa.]

How about the projector? Can you tell me a little about how it works?

[Also is there anything else notable about it now that the key has been pulled out?]

[Other than how old and in need of repairs this projector is? Apparently not. The reels Nine and Dazai insert later are a different matter, though]

I can give you a crash course if they let us back in here after this.

Sure. It'll give us both something to do.

It seems like a filter of some sort, though I am unsure of the pattern's significance. I don't think I've seen it anywhere else yet. Perhaps one of those other reels has a clue?

[Well, it seems everyone has things mostly handled here. Still, Franciscus looks pretty impressed at Jughead's key-handling skills.]

Nice job. Do you do that often?

Used to. I kept the Twilight Drive-In alive as long as I could.

[Just a little self-satisfied smile.]

It's like second nature.
