WEEK 2: April 8th - April 12th

Second Week

Seven days have passed. Quite peaceful days, almost too peaceful. The town has welcomed you, excited to see tourists for the first time in many, many, many years. Some may have liked the peace, others may have been annoyed by it, but it was undeniable Cartesio seemed like such a nice and safe place it was hard to believe you had been told to kill each other.

But the threat is still up in the air. What's more: how much patience does the Sergeant have left?

Every time you take a look into the Lodge, you see the Sergeant. Lately he's looking more and more annoyed. Even though you can't see his face, you can feel he's getting frustrated. How long will it be before he lashes out and does something about these peaceful days?

Nobody in the town could suspect the harrowing times that'd befall Cartesio.

When you wake up on Sunday, you'll find new maps in the map rack and brochures on the table, showing places you hadn't noticed in the town before. Enjoy!

Yeah, it was really late when we managed to get out, huh... but don't push yourself too hard if you're still tired!

[doublelammy]

I know, I know... [The one situation in which Sakura is the Mom Friend, apparently.] I wanted t'just stay in, since it's not like I've got anything planned for today, really? But I just couldn't fall back asleep.

I'm too used to waking up early, I think.

[clearities]

It happens... I usually need an alarm to wake me up myself, otherwise I'd be late to school.

[ Sakura laughs a little bit, sheepishly. ] But maybe you should try sleeping early today to make up for it! It might help!

[doublelammy]

Ahaha... yeah, I've never had that problem. Every new day is exciting!

...And, y'know. I kinda went to military school, it gets pretty beaten into you there.

I prolly will whether or not I want to... I hope I can get a nap in later or something. I don't wanna be a downer all day!

[clearities]

Mm... well, I'm pretty excited by every day too, but I'm not good at waking up on time without my alarm clocks. [ She's been trying, though. ] But military school? What was that like?

[doublelammy]

[This question seems to perk Millium up, at least! She likes talking about Thors...]

A lot of fun! I mean, classwork could get kinda dull, but my classmates were great and we had all sorts of fun and went on really cool field studies all over the Empire!

[clearities]

You got to travel? That sounds really cool!

[doublelammy]

It was awesome! I got to see a big pretty lake and a castle even if it was full of ghosts and a fortress and then once we got the Courageous I got to hang out in all these parts of the Empire I never really got the chance to stop in before...

[Oh no, she's rambling.]

[clearities]

[ Sakura is actually rather interested in all of this, which is why she can't help but look rather impressed. ] That's really amazing, though! Being able to see a really nice lake and even a castle.

[doublelammy]

It really was!

[...So why does she look suddenly bittersweet?]

I'm really gonna miss it.

[clearities]

Hm? But you can visit the place again when you go back home... right?

[doublelammy]

Sure, but it's not gonna be the same.

Half the fun of it was getting to go with my friends. Class VII's over, now. We all have lives to get back to. So I don't think that's gonna be happening again.

[clearities]

So you can't go again with your friends...? Like for a vacation, or something? That seems really sad, don't you think?

[doublelammy]

S'like I said. We all have lives to get back to.

I've got work to do for Gramps. Rean's gonna be on even more missions than I will and he's still in school besides, Jusis is the acting duke, Alisa's tryin' to take over her mom's company, Elliot n' Machias moved on to other schools, Gaius went back to the highlands, Laura's training who even knows where, Fie's a bracer, n' Emma's... off doing witch stuff, I guess.

Gettin' everyone back together again... I mean, we have a promise to do it someday, but I don't see that bein' any time soon.

[clearities]

I understand. [ She really does get it, nodding as she listens to everything that Millium tells her. ] But you guys made a promise, right? That means that that one day it'll happen. I'll believe in that. That you guys can meet up again and then go to the places that you talked about again. Even if it isn't immediate.

[doublelammy]

...Yeah.

I believe in it, too. And I know when I get to see everyone again, we're gonna have a ton of fun... I just wish it was something that could last.
