WEEK 2: April 8th - April 12th

Second Week
Seven days have passed. Quite peaceful days, almost too peaceful. The town has welcomed you, excited to see tourists for the first time in many, many, many years. Some may have liked the peace, others may have been annoyed by it, but it was undeniable Cartesio seemed like such a nice and safe place it was hard to believe you had been told to kill each other.

But the threat is still up in the air. What's more: how much patience does the Sergeant have left?

Every time you take a look into the Lodge, you see the Sergeant. Lately he's looking more and more annoyed. Even though you can't see his face, you can feel he's getting frustrated. How long will it be before he lashes out and does something about these peaceful days?

Nobody in the town could suspect the harrowing times that'd befall Cartesio.

When you wake up on Sunday, you'll find new maps in the map rack and brochures on the table, showing places you hadn't noticed in the town before. Enjoy!

[When she walks into the tavern and hears music playing, Olympia quickly glances around, then starts moving and searching more actively. After a moment, she gives up, and approaches Jughead in the corner.]

Is there a hidden jukebox in here?

Close, but no.

[He nods over to the record player. It's easy to miss unless you're looking for it.]

Unless a record shop suddenly appears, this is all we have to play on it. Not a bad choice of album for an endless loop.

[She leans over to get a better look at it. Hm...]

As long as it has more variety than that pussycat song.

How many times did you listen to it?

[The Tom Jones incident actually managed to shoo Jughead out of the diner. Many respects, Millium.]

I'm not sure. It was hard to be sure when it ended or began.

[Millium is power and Olympia has been wise to ally with her.]

The Tom-Jones continuum.

[He looks over to the side briefly, shaken at the concept, then glances to the vinyl sleeve he has on the table.]

This has got nine songs on it, so, less mind-numbing.

[She looks at the sleeve, then at the record, mentally counting the visible bands.]

Interesting. They're visible.

This was before modern technology could let you skip forward to any song. You had to count.

[He listens to what's playing, and glances at the sleeve.]

Move the arm onto the sixth one.

[Are you sure you want Olympia to do that? She's wearing weird gauntlets or something, it can't be good for her fine dexterity--oh never mind apparently it's not a problem. She carefully lifts the arm and plops it down... near the beginning of the track? She's just guessing at how it works, here.

She gives the sleeve a look, too.]

"Us and Them." That's appropriate.

[The track begins to play, and Jughead leans back in his chair, relaxing a little.]

If you’re going to have a soundtrack, it’s got to be appropriate.

[Us and them

And after all we’re only ordinary men
]

Just leaves the question of who’s “us” and who’s “them”.
