WEEK 2: April 8th - April 12th

Second Week

Seven days have passed. Quite peaceful days, almost too peaceful. The town has welcomed you, excited to see tourists for the first time in many, many, many years. Some may have liked the peace, others may have been annoyed by it, but it was undeniable Cartesio seemed like such a nice and safe place it was hard to believe you had been told to kill each other.

But the threat is still up in the air. What's more: how much patience does the Sergeant have left?

Every time you take a look into the Lodge, you see the Sergeant. Lately he's looking more and more annoyed. Even though you can't see his face, you can feel he's getting frustrated. How long will it be before he lashes out and does something about these peaceful days?

Nobody in the town could suspect the harrowing times that'd befall Cartesio.

When you wake up on Sunday, you'll find new maps in the map rack and brochures on the table, showing places you hadn't noticed in the town before. Enjoy!

I shoot inside, it's a problem; I shoot outside, it's a problem. All you do is complain.

You'd think the problem might be with the shooting part.

What a stupid problem to have. You're wasting your breath.

[thunk goes the arrow into the target, and then the next.]

[burgerprince]

And you're just making yourself suspicious.

[Or a target, but he's not saying it.]

Don't think I don't know where I stand. What's it even matter to you?

[burgerprince]

Where would that be?

[Please, enlighten him.]

It's just an observation. Figured you might not have realized it yet.

[snideper]

[pausing exactly long enough to roll her eyes as dramatically as is physically possible]

All this stuff about how suspicious I am isn't news to me and hasn't been since they put out all our info on day one. Any moron who thinks that makes me a target is going to regret it.

[thunk goes the arrow. she absolutely did that on purpose.]

[burgerprince]

[He watches the arrow go, and drops that line of questioning. If Clarisse wanted to be like this, then so be it. He’s not going to try to go all My Fair Lady on her.]

Yeah, I’m sure that screen is really regretting picking a fight with you now.

[snideper]

[scoffs]

You're real mad that I'm quick on the draw, huh.

[burgerprince]

There was no point in doing that. It’s not being quick on the draw, it’s being primitive.

[snideper]

Something you don't recognize is just as likely to be a threat. Better to be wrong and down an arrow than wrong and dead.

[clarisse is VERY "shoot first ask questions later"]

[burgerprince]

You're wrong and down a screen.

[Which is worth more than Clarisse's arrows or life.]

If you thought for a moment you might've realized it was harmless.

[snideper]

A moment's long enough to get you killed for anything that's trying. You're gonna get yourself killed, acting so carefree.

[burgerprince]

But it wasn't trying.

[That's his whole damn point!!]

[snideper]

[dismissive hand wave!!]

Don't get so mad 'cause I didn't want to wait and risk it.

[burgerprince]

I'm mad because you destroyed one of the last prospective sources of enjoyment in this entire town.

[snideper]

That's what you're calling enjoyment? You're so boring.

[she still doesn't understand what a movie is]

[burgerprince]

You wouldn’t understand, you’ve never seen a film. Probably wouldn’t even if you did.

[snideper]

Must not be that exciting if seeing one wouldn't change anything.

[burgerprince]

No, you just don’t have the capacity to appreciate it.
