WEEK 2: April 8th - April 12th

Second Week

Seven days have passed. Quite peaceful days, almost too peaceful. The town has welcomed you, excited to see tourists for the first time in many, many, many years. Some may have liked the peace, others may have been annoyed by it, but it was undeniable Cartesio seemed like such a nice and safe place it was hard to believe you had been told to kill each other.

But the threat is still up in the air. What's more: how much patience does the Sergeant have left?

Every time you take a look into the Lodge, you see the Sergeant. Lately he's looking more and more annoyed. Even though you can't see his face, you can feel he's getting frustrated. How long will it be before he lashes out and does something about these peaceful days?

Nobody in the town could suspect the harrowing times that'd befall Cartesio.

When you wake up on Sunday, you'll find new maps in the map rack and brochures on the table, showing places you hadn't noticed in the town before. Enjoy!

Not that, unless it was actually a toy from your childhood or something similar. They gave me a rather gaudy neon sign.

[That's getting horrible snort of laughter. He's not even remotely upset.]

Nah. I'd be lucky to get a blanket. They really give kids stuff like this? What's the sign for?

[Franciscus' eyebrows both raise up somewhat at that comment.] Not always that large, but plenty of children have toys like that. [He shrugs at the question.] It simply says "Winner." With an exclamation mark. I suppose it's meant to be some kind of novelty.

Really, I was thinking of throwing it on one of the kids and seeing how that goes. I'd give it to the pissy girl but I think she'd kill me. [He's quite literally going to toss it at someone.]

It's weird. I don't think I'm ever going to understand stuff like that.

That sounds like a good use of it. I admit I am less sure who would want a neon sign.

That old guy. Uh. The crooked one whose apparently a big shot too.

[He means Damon.]

I'll consider him, then, if it becomes necessary to get into his good graces.

[Snort.] Don't know if you really want that.

Stressful situations make for strange bedfellows, after all. You never know who you may want on your side.

I think you're better off not having a guy who swims in the lake in bright pink underwear on you're side... But that might just be me.

...that could be useful as a distraction, perhaps. [Occupy Lake.]

To who? Us or them? I don't get why he was there in the first place...

His profile says he likes swimming. I suppose that's the closest he can get here. And if it becomes necessary to stealthily investigate the town, a loud and vivid distraction would be most useful.

...Good point. Nothing more likely to get their attention than that.

I suppose considering how much he enjoys doing it, bribery might not even be necessary. We'll just need to time things right.

He doesn't seem shy about it either. I hope you've got a plan though, cause I've not got shit.

Well, I'm still trying to determine the best time to utilize a distraction. It's likely to only work once, after all.

I'd say day time cause that'd be when the normal people came out back home. But here I'm not so sure. Police would just ignore something about a naked guy there, but it might be more suspicious here.

[The comment about ignoring naked guys gets a bit of a laugh out of him.] I suppose it depends on the security on the places we might want to investigate as well. Whether the day or night guards are more watchful.

Ohoh- Sounds like you already got a place in mind?

The clinic has been of interest to me lately. I would like to know exactly where they're getting their otherworldly medicines from.

[streetwolf]

It really that good? I've never been awaken for long when at one to see them normally.

[silvertongueheir]

They are quite useful. But even if they weren't, the simple fact that they have items from my world that the workers have no clue about is something that could be looked into.

[streetwolf]

Meds are meds right? Wouldn't they be the same everywhere? I normally try to skip out before the bill me though.

[silvertongueheir]

[He shakes his head.] Potions and the like often offer much faster relief than other medicines. And generally one dose is sufficient for them to take full effect.
