WEEK 2: April 8th - April 12th

Second Week
Seven days have passed. Quite peaceful days, almost too peaceful. The town has welcomed you, excited to see tourists for the first time in many, many, many years. Some may have liked the peace, others may have been annoyed by it, but it was undeniable Cartesio seemed like such a nice and safe place it was hard to believe you had been told to kill each other.

But the threat is still up in the air. What's more: how much patience does the Sergeant have left?

Every time you take a look into the Lodge, you see the Sergeant. Lately he's looking more and more annoyed. Even though you can't see his face, you can feel he's getting frustrated. How long will it be before he lashes out and does something about these peaceful days?

Nobody in the town could suspect the harrowing times that'd befall Cartesio.

When you wake up on Sunday, you'll find new maps in the map rack and brochures on the table, showing places you hadn't noticed in the town before. Enjoy!

I'm guessing this one wasn't? Or are they trained not to attack humans?

No, this one is female. If it were for fighting, it would also need a cage.

So she won't bite, then? [Franciscus might be reaching down to pet the chicken now.]

I'm not sure about that.

[Kino didn't ever keep a chicken long enough to find out their temperaments.

Still, the chicken doesn't seem to mind, occasionally giving a cluck and fluffing her feathers.

[Awwww. He's going to give her a few more pets, then.] Are you going to keep her in you room, or somewhere else?
quickpersuader: (clouds)

[personal profile] quickpersuader 2018-10-14 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Definitely not my room. [No way. Not happening.] I can probably make a pen for her out of scraps from the junkyard...

Or eat her.

[Hmm.]

[His eyes widen when she suggests eating the chicken, both hands moving as if ready to scoop her up, although he retains his smile.] I can help with making a pen for her. That's much less difficult than engineering some mechanism. So there should be no need to eat her.

[It's not like Kino's going to eat her on the spot...]

That would be good. But she'll still need to be fed.

[That's a relief.] She can probably catch bugs on her own. I'm unsure how similar she is to the Torchic line, but perhaps the diner will provide her raw grains that they cannot sell?

[Preparing chickens for food takes quite a while and effort, after all.]

Or vegetables... those would work, too. I'm not sure how self-sufficient they are.
silvertongueheir: (Til now I've been pretending)

[personal profile] silvertongueheir 2018-10-19 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
[If you turn out to be fattening her up to eat this will be the worst Cartesio betrayal ever.]

I suppose the best thing to do would simply be to ask.
quickpersuader: (we travel the world)

[personal profile] quickpersuader 2018-10-19 04:51 am (UTC)(link)
[Only if there's a starvation motive, and then you all will be thanking her.]

Do you want to?

[Since he's the one who's really into saving this bird.]

silvertongueheir: (I always knew)

[personal profile] silvertongueheir 2018-10-19 09:54 am (UTC)(link)
[...] I suppose I can. I'll let you know what they say.
quickpersuader: (nights go past)

[personal profile] quickpersuader 2018-10-19 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Then I'll leave it to you.

[And responsibility is thus shirked.]
