WEEK 2: April 8th - April 12th

Second Week

Seven days have passed. Quite peaceful days, almost too peaceful. The town has welcomed you, excited to see tourists for the first time in many, many, many years. Some may have liked the peace, others may have been annoyed by it, but it was undeniable Cartesio seemed like such a nice and safe place it was hard to believe you had been told to kill each other.

But the threat is still up in the air. What's more: how much patience does the Sergeant have left?

Every time you take a look into the Lodge, you see the Sergeant. Lately he's looking more and more annoyed. Even though you can't see his face, you can feel he's getting frustrated. How long will it be before he lashes out and does something about these peaceful days?

Nobody in the town could suspect the harrowing times that'd befall Cartesio.

When you wake up on Sunday, you'll find new maps in the map rack and brochures on the table, showing places you hadn't noticed in the town before. Enjoy!

[ A long pause, as if he's really debating Sting's advice. ]

Pass. Do enough of that back home. [ But 'ey, your imitation really was decent Sting. Too bad Dabi will never say that. ]

Huh. Didn't expect that. [ He leans his chin on his palm and his elbow on the counter. ] So, what, you've got a guild back home? Or somethin' like it.

[amburere]

[ Talking 'bout this stuff so casually is weird, but Dabi's not actually opposed as long as they don't get into the details. Never know when Hawks could come swooping in. ]

Yeah. I direct a bunch of lunatics. [ He shifts his attention to one of the bottles of liquor behind the bar before continuing. ] I'm the leader of the Vanguard Action Squad.

[unfashionably]

Hey, nothin' wrong with that. Things can be pretty fun when they're crazy. [ He's grinning but his definition of crazy and Dabi's are absolutely different. ] Vanguard Action Squad's a cool name, by the way.

[amburere]

[ It's fine, probably. He nods in agreement, cause saying out loud that he may enjoy some of their company from time to time is dangerous. He can practically hear Toga shrieking from here. ]

Better than the boss's other ideas. He talked himself out of "l337 Uber Unit".

[unfashionably]

[ Good job, good job, that gets a laugh. ]

What the hell? What's that even mean?

[amburere]

[ Blink. ]

...elite super unit, I think. His taste is fucking awful.

[unfashionably]

Damn, that's on the nose. Now I'm thinking your team and my guild got off easy.

[amburere]

Hm? [ Is this another thing they share? Doomed to work under bosses with awful #aesthetics? ]

[unfashionably]

Sabertooth. [ He says the name with a lot of pride, but when he moves on? It vanishes entirely. ] That was the name Jiemma gave the guild when he started it. Bet he went through a lot of names before he decided on that one, and it wouldn't surprise me if "elite" were one of them. That guy... he wasn't right.

[amburere]

Not bad. [ Dabi peers over at Sting. You gonna finish that thought? ]

[unfashionably]

Sabertooth? Yeah, it might have had a rocky start but now it's a name we can be proud of. [ Apparently not. ]

[amburere]

[ Hmm. ]

Yeah. Somethin' dragon related might've worked too. [ Dabi still doesn't understand much about Sting, but the dragon stuff has stuck in his memory. Probably the result of the whole time controlling thing, rather than actual investment but hey. Effort's still effort? ]

[unfashionably]

That would've been cool, sure, but there are only two dragon slayers in the guild. Naming the whole thing after us would've been way too much. [ Gotta start somewhere! ]
