WEEK 2: April 8th - April 12th

Second Week

Seven days have passed. Quite peaceful days, almost too peaceful. The town has welcomed you, excited to see tourists for the first time in many, many, many years. Some may have liked the peace, others may have been annoyed by it, but it was undeniable Cartesio seemed like such a nice and safe place it was hard to believe you had been told to kill each other.

But the threat is still up in the air. What's more: how much patience does the Sergeant have left?

Every time you take a look into the Lodge, you see the Sergeant. Lately he's looking more and more annoyed. Even though you can't see his face, you can feel he's getting frustrated. How long will it be before he lashes out and does something about these peaceful days?

Nobody in the town could suspect the harrowing times that'd befall Cartesio.

When you wake up on Sunday, you'll find new maps in the map rack and brochures on the table, showing places you hadn't noticed in the town before. Enjoy!

The boss thought that he could get him to come to our side given his sparkling personality. [ Shrug to that, 'cause he knew it was a stupid idea from the start. ]

Didn't work out that way, but doesn't matter. We got much a much better prize, along with fracturing the public's trust in USJ.

[robitussin]

[There's been a growing skepticism in her expression through the last few things he's said, but here it grows downright distrustful.]

...And what was the prize you got?

[ If her skepticism bothers Dabi, he doesn't show it any. In fact he grows more animated as he speaks, the staples at the corner of his mouth pulling at his skin. ]

Revealing to the world that the number one hero was no longer up to the job. All Might has been their symbol of hope, their symbol of peace, the foundation of hero society for decades. And now? He's worse than dead!

[amburere]

...killing him would just make him a martyr. Emaciating him in front of the world is a reality that not even the most idiotic trash can deny. The age of heroes is over, its our turn next.

[robitussin]

[A long pause, as she watches this.]

Are you, like. Okay? I think you might need some help.

[amburere]

[ He lets out a breath that almost sounds like a laugh. ]

Bit too late for that, don't ya think?

[robitussin]

I mean, when you inevitably get arrested, that's probably going to be part of what they make you do. So...

[amburere]

Don't plan on it. [ He smiles again, all too serenely for this conversation. ]

[robitussin]

Nobody ever really plans to go to jail. And yet, prisons exist, full of people.

[amburere]

...you sure 'bout that? [ For some reason, that's really amusing. But he moves on because like hell is he explaining. ]

I've got it handled. But thanks again for your concern, Natalie.

[robitussin]

Um, yes. Is there a reason I shouldn't be sure about either of those things...?

[Almost as soon as she hears what he says next, she gives a sigh.]

Again, not concerned. Just stating facts.

[amburere]

Don't worry 'bout it. [ Being insufferably vague is also one of his quirks. ]

Uh-huh. [ Shrug. ] I was never good at listen' to lectures, don't know why I'd start now.

[robitussin]

Not worried, curious. You’re pretty good at mixing those two things up.

[She sighs.]

And I’m not lecturing you, oh my god. I’m not your parent.

[amburere]

[ Dabi gives Natalie a long look. No matter how you spin it, his answer's the same. Maybe this will make it clearer, though. ]

None of your business. That better? [ For both things. Not even touching the parent comment. ]

[robitussin]

[After a momentary pause:]

Yes. Although, you could have saved us both a solid five minutes if you said that immediately, so thanks.

[amburere]

There's worse ways to waste your time here. [ Which is to say, he was bored. The relative peace is nice, but sometimes he itches with the need to have a stupid conversation with someone. It's entirely the League's fault, and he'd rather not think that it may mean that he misses them in some way, so eh. ]

[robitussin]

Aww, look at you. Do you have a soft spot for talking to people here?

[There's a lightly teasing tone to her voice.]

[amburere]

Shut up. [ In a testament to how right she is some way, his tone isn't overly harsh. Flat and without affect, the same exact way he told the various members of the Vanguard to keep quiet daily. ]

[robitussin]

[A smirk.]

Nah, I think I'm good.

[amburere]

[ ....... ]

So am I. [ And getting up and leaving, like it's not completely rude. ]

[robitussin]

[She doesn't move to stop him, just gives him a cheery little wave as he goes. Friend...ship??]
