WEEK 2: April 8th - April 12th

Second Week

Seven days have passed. Quite peaceful days, almost too peaceful. The town has welcomed you, excited to see tourists for the first time in many, many, many years. Some may have liked the peace, others may have been annoyed by it, but it was undeniable Cartesio seemed like such a nice and safe place it was hard to believe you had been told to kill each other.

But the threat is still up in the air. What's more: how much patience does the Sergeant have left?

Every time you take a look into the Lodge, you see the Sergeant. Lately he's looking more and more annoyed. Even though you can't see his face, you can feel he's getting frustrated. How long will it be before he lashes out and does something about these peaceful days?

Nobody in the town could suspect the harrowing times that'd befall Cartesio.

When you wake up on Sunday, you'll find new maps in the map rack and brochures on the table, showing places you hadn't noticed in the town before. Enjoy!

I kind of don’t want to look at it again, so yeah.

[Her shrug is noncommittal, even if she’s glancing at the dress like it’s personally offended her somehow.]

You seem like more of the dress wearing kind, anyways.

If you don't mind me asking, did you receive this from the casino?

[ Azura looks the dress over for a moment before draping it over her arm. She's probably wearing her spare provided outfit right now, but she's still got her dancer veil on and her hair loose, so...yeah, accurate observation. She looks completely out of place not wearing a dress. ]

[She shakes her head again.]

No. I wouldn’t have taken any of the clothes from there if you paid me. I just woke up with this on my bed... It’s something I had back home.

[prayerwheel]

Ah. I was wondering what everyone else had gotten...for whatever reason, they gifted me with a renewable meal ticket.

[ The look on her face says "I would have much preferred a dress" because really now, their credit cards are unlimited... ]

[She pauses, almost laughing.]

I mean, it’s not really a surprise, because it’s him. Still, you’d think with everything he knows about us, he’d be able to pick out stuff that doesn’t completely suck.

[prayerwheel]

Perhaps because it was from the casino directly? Still...I wouldn't put it past him to gift us things we don't want on purpose.

[ Oh well. Free buffet food. ]

[robitussin]

I’m pretty sure he already did. I mean, I’m not sure who else would have put that in my room.

[She gestures to the dress.]

Which... is really creepy, come to think of it.

[prayerwheel]

....well, that's an alarming thought. Do you suppose he has a master key?

[robitussin]

I mean, we woke up in those rooms. He had to have gotten us in there somehow. I just... hadn't thought of it until now, I guess.

[Or had tried not to think about it. One of the two.]

[prayerwheel]

[ She rubs her neck absently...he likely did have her pendant, did he lift it off her neck while she was sleeping? He couldn't have gotten it from her any other way. ]

I don't think that's something I want to think about.

[ just. you know. for peace of mind. ]

[robitussin]

...Yeah, that's fair enough. I am also 100% in favor of a subject change.

[It's definitely stressful to think about.]

[ clearing her throat ]

Anyhow. You're Natalie, right?

Yep, that's me. And... You're Azura, yeah?

Yes. My pleasure.

shit what do they talk about. this is normally the part where conversation dies off? think quick, uhh ]

You, ah...enjoy playing the piano?

[Somehow, it seems like that was the right topic - at least, judging by how she immediately seems to perk up.]

Yeah. Classical. I have ever since I was a kid.

[prayerwheel]

I don't play an instrument myself, but I do love music...if we happen upon a piano in this town, I'd like to hear your playing, if you don't mind.

[robitussin]

I haven't found one yet, but... If I do later, you could probably listen in. Just don't think it's going to be, like, amazing. I mean, I'm good, but...
