WEEK 2: April 8th - April 12th

Second Week

Seven days have passed. Quite peaceful days, almost too peaceful. The town has welcomed you, excited to see tourists for the first time in many, many, many years. Some may have liked the peace, others may have been annoyed by it, but it was undeniable Cartesio seemed like such a nice and safe place it was hard to believe you had been told to kill each other.

But the threat is still up in the air. What's more: how much patience does the Sergeant have left?

Every time you take a look into the Lodge, you see the Sergeant. Lately he's looking more and more annoyed. Even though you can't see his face, you can feel he's getting frustrated. How long will it be before he lashes out and does something about these peaceful days?

Nobody in the town could suspect the harrowing times that'd befall Cartesio.

When you wake up on Sunday, you'll find new maps in the map rack and brochures on the table, showing places you hadn't noticed in the town before. Enjoy!

During... Started up same time as we were.. Before it went out of control, I thought it was pretty good for us. That we wouldn't get caught with the fire getting all the attention. But that it was probably planned to look like we did it.

Then... it was probably the work of the Sergeant?

That's what I was thinking. Especially with all the other shit. He might not care about the locals but making sure they don't care about us helps him.

Well, if the locals hate us, we won't have anyone else to turn to.

Exactly. I was hoping to get a car from somewhere and leave after his timer thing ran out. Seeing as he's apparently only put enough money on these cards till then.

A car could be useful... Or a motorcycle.

[Sorry Hermes, but Kino needs to look out for Kino.]

But besides the junkyard, I haven't seen a place where we can find anything like that.

I think a car would be better. It's bit more bullet proof...

I'm going to ask around a bit. See if someones selling, might as well take advantage of having these cars. Not like I know how to fix something from the yard up.

I can probably drive a car, but...

[Definitely more familiar with "motorcycles."]

Let me know if you find anything out. I'm no good for repairing anything like what's in the junkyard either, unfortunately.

[Kino doesn't have the skills that traveler did, after all.]

Yeah... And hanging around there might not be such a good idea with a dead guy being found up there.

What'd be good is if we could get a van. But I'm not sure if sticking together is a good idea. [But someone probably needs to be with the smalls.]

Maybe if we had people who could provide backup firepower too, while we escape.

[No need to be totally defenseless here.]

I can shoot and drive. But I'd say we're better off not shooting unless someone follows. Just make a clean getaway.

If we shoot first they might just come after us to get us back.

Definitely. But it's good to prepare for, just in case.

It is... I like the way you think. It's more normal than some of the others.

Is it?

[Kino genuinely has no idea.]

Yeah. When they talk it's like they're from somewhere real nice, but you talk like the kids back home do.

[quickpersuader]

Well... It does sound like some of them come from nice places.

An you're not, right? ...Nevermind. It doesn't really matter.
