WEEK 2: April 8th - April 12th

Second Week

Seven days have passed. Quite peaceful days, almost too peaceful. The town has welcomed you, excited to see tourists for the first time in many, many, many years. Some may have liked the peace, others may have been annoyed by it, but it was undeniable Cartesio seemed like such a nice and safe place it was hard to believe you had been told to kill each other.

But the threat is still up in the air. What's more: how much patience does the Sergeant have left?

Every time you take a look into the Lodge, you see the Sergeant. Lately he's looking more and more annoyed. Even though you can't see his face, you can feel he's getting frustrated. How long will it be before he lashes out and does something about these peaceful days?

Nobody in the town could suspect the harrowing times that'd befall Cartesio.

When you wake up on Sunday, you'll find new maps in the map rack and brochures on the table, showing places you hadn't noticed in the town before. Enjoy!

I don't remember seeing anything about, like, farming on anybody's biography, but I could be misremembering.

Technically I know how to care for them, but it wasn't on mine.

Maybe it's only important things?

I mean... Mine lists swimming and academics. I'm not sure those are, like, crucial facts.

[quickpersuader]

[Hmmm... Kino spends a moment thinking that over.]

How good are you at both?

[robitussin]

I swam competitively for a while, but not any more... I've probably gotten out of practice.

[A shrug.]

I'm better at academics than most people, I guess.

[quickpersuader]

Maybe it's relative? Like the things you're best at.

[robitussin]

...That would make sense. Mine would definitely have piano and school there, so it checks out.

[She looks thoughtful; it isn't something she's considered.]

[quickpersuader]

My marksmanship is probably what I rely on the most...

[It's really amazing how many people will try to kill you out on the open road.]

[robitussin]

...I feel like I'll regret asking this, but do you have to shoot people or things a lot?

[quickpersuader]

There are a lot of people who don't realize it's not a good idea to attack someone with a persuader on their hip. ...Or a gun, I mean.

[Terminology.]

Anyway, sometimes they won't give up even if I try to run away, so I have to take matters into my own hands.

[Seems like a dislike of killing does not mean an inability to kill.]
