Week 2 - after trial

[everyone is probably more than a little stunned over what has been going on. while it is true that the Sergeant told them all this would happen, it's different to have to witness it with one's own eyes. while Nine is led away, and the townspeople leave the court, it is up to the visitors to decide how to move forward. do they talk among themselves? do they reflect on the events that took place alone? one thing that is certain is that the Sergeant got his way this week. will he continue to force them to keep picking each other off in the weeks that come? only time will tell.
this isn't really an after party. it's too sad, but perhaps many people will take comfort in the fact that they are not alone. either mingle at the motel, or somewhere else in town, or even visit Nine in his cell. it's up to you as to how you will spend the rest of this afternoon]

Sarge wanted Oda to execute you, before you get any funny ideas.
[a normal person would start with "hello," clarisse]
no subject
That's too bad. Was hoping you could finally get your wish, yo.
no subject
I'm already tired of you pretending to make nice. I just didn't want you getting weird about it.
no subject
[ He doesn't really have time for that kind of nonsense anyways. ]

So, why'd you kill him? [ He knows this question was asked at trial, but things kinda spiraled quickly there with the whining, begging, and yelling. ]
no subject
He seemed strong enough, and he was there.
[ And really... it was just that. He was there. ]

He arrives sometime later in the night for a visit, but not too late. ]
So, how does it feel, being all locked up in there, huh?
no subject
Yo, Hot Stuff.
[ Opting for that over Bakky because he doesn't want to ruin that as well. Rubbing the back of his head as he looks around. ]
I guess it's normal? I mean... it's about as much as you would expect.
no subject
Whatever, the other one's stupid sounding but still better than Bakky (in his mind), so he'll let it go. ]
...Tch.
[ ... ]
Fucking weird that people were lining up volunteering to execute you. You think they were eager to get your blood on their hands or something like that?
[ It is not stated, but he is not referring to Clarisse because she's always ready to stain her hands in blood the way he sees it. But the other two... ]
no subject
Well almost anything. ]
The Sarge probably rewards you if you do. [ Scratching the back of his head. He honestly isn't bothered by it. ] Besides, it'll probably beat whatever the hell he's planning. Heard he electrocuted the last one.

She wasn't going to come here. She was just going to try to forget about it and get some sleep, try to get her eyes – mouth – her entire face from hurting. Hoping for her chest or stomach to stop is out of the question, she knows that well enough.
But no, her brain won't let her. So here she is.]
...Nine.
no subject
Hey.
[ He'll move to front to touch the bars there. ]
no subject
She moves closer, too.]
I, um...
I wanted to come say goodbye.
[His hand is touching the bars, and although there's a part of her that thinks better of it, she still reaches out to touch that same bar, and his hand on the other side.]

But that's exactly why she has to go. She has to confront her cowardice and spend some time with Nine - she'd liked the boy and she still likes him now, even after what he did and even when she thinks of Moloch and feels tears welling in her eyes all over again.
When she arrives at the cell though, she smiles. ]
Hello, Nine-kun... Is there anything you want people to remember about you? ... ah, that was so blunt, I just mean... We won't forget you, I definitely won't, so it seems fair for you to... to control your own legacy.
no subject
Until the end.
And again, another end with someone offering to let him choose. Rubbing the back of his head as he looks away. ]
I... I don't really know. I never really thought about it. Last time, we put together that flag...

[ It feels awkward to just stand here, staring through the bars, so Cian instead sits down on her knees in front of them. Signaling just a small bit that she's not just drifting by to spectate his misery - or at least, trying to signal this. The floor is way too cold. ]

Being locked up in the basement of the police station with nothing to do and nobody to talk to has been an odd look at the kind of alternate reality life could have been for Keith had Shiro simply done the easy thing and given up on him. For so many reasons, Keith knows he owes the guy his life, but the last couple of days really puts things into a cold, laser focused perspective. It'd be funny if it didn't also make him feel sick worrying about Shiro's fate out there frozen in deep space. The fates of all of the others.
Patience yields focus had always been Shiro's advice for him and in here, there's nothing to do but to be endlessly patient and endlessly focused. He's sitting on his uncomfortable bed with his eyes closed, still concentrating, when Nine's brought down to the adjacent cell. A wall is between them and Nine is obscured from view, but that doesn't mean they can't talk to each other and that's precisely what Keith does as soon as it's just them in the basement again.]
The hell's going on.
no subject
Yo.
[ He's actually thankful for the wall between them for the moment because he can let himself fall apart without Keith actually seeing it. Breathing in a deep breath as he sits down on the bed. ]
I'm getting executed tomorrow.
no subject
[He reacts faster to Nine's words than he can process them properly. In a flash, Keith is up on his feet, pacing loudly. That doesn't make sense, the hell did you do? The questions rise up like a swarm of angry wasps, but more than anything else he simply wishes he could reach over through that wall and force Nine to look him in the eye to have this conversation.]
That's not funny.
[It's automatic -- Nine's tone had no lightness to it, there's no reason to even think this is a joke, But maybe the reality is that Keith wants it to be.]
walks in here 11 days late with starbucks
...Nine. Are you sleeping?
no subject
Hey.
[ He can't really help the smile there. ]
no subject
...hello. I suppose this is when I would ask how you are, but that question likely answers itself.
[ Ever since she stepped into the middle of a war, she's been prepared to die, but this is a little different. ]
