Week 2 - after trial

[everyone is probably more than a little stunned over what has been going on. while it is true that the Sergeant told them all this would happen, it's different to have to witness it with one's own eyes. while Nine is led away, and the townspeople leave the court, it is up to the visitors to decide how to move forward. do they talk among themselves? do they reflect on the events that took place alone? one thing that is certain is that the Sergeant got his way this week. will he continue to force them to keep picking each other off in the weeks that come? only time will tell.
this isn't really an after party. it's too sad, but perhaps many people will take comfort in the fact that they are not alone. either mingle at the motel, or somewhere else in town, or even visit Nine in his cell. it's up to you as to how you will spend the rest of this afternoon]

It's irritating to look at right now, yeah.
And it's better to be outside than reminded of how we're forced to live in that shitty motel in this shitty town.
[ Bakugou doesn't think these are exactly the same reasons she's out here considering how he's seen she feels about Nine, but whatever. ]

[She shifts a little in the tree.]
Being up high like this kinda feels like what it's like with Lammy, too. So it's just... one more way to try to forget this is happening, I guess.
[They might not be exactly the same reasons, but Millium can't deny they're at least a part of the reason.]
Do you wanna come up? The branch to my left is pretty strong, too.

[ He just scowls up at her, but it's not like he has anything else better to do now that he's done what he's set out to do--he's too mentally tired to do anything really productive either.
So he just hauls his ass right up onto that branch, looking at the scenery before them. At least it's not a bad sight. ]
I don't usually waste my time playing around in trees, so don't get the idea that this is something I'll ever do again.

[There's not a lot of mirth to her laughter, but it's better than nothing. And for tonight, just for tonight, she won't even give him shit for this.
It's kind of better than being alone up here, she thinks. There are other people she's not sure she'd want to see right now, but Bakugou? Bakugou is okay.]
...Hey.
Thank you, for earlier. For yelling at him like that.
no subject
[ Typical Bakugou, saying things he shouldn't!!
But anyway, he doesn't leave it at that, so it's definitely something. ]
But your welcome. Pissed me off, hearing him sayin' shit like that because he couldn't get his shit together. Then of course he had to change his story and add to it but still fuck it, because nobody asked for him to kill anyone for them. And he shouldn't have, that's all there is to it.
no subject
[Maybe he shouldn't have said it, but she doesn't seem fazed by that, at least. The way she responds, it's her usual matter-of-fact tone.]
But you're right about all that, and I couldn't say it. So even if it wasn't for me, I'm still really glad you said it. At least if it's gotta be this way, I don't have to regret never saying something like that.
no subject
[ Even after all of that it causes him to smirk. Situation still sucked but whatever, he'll take it. ]
Someone needed to call him out for being a moron too. I'm pretty experienced with doing that.
Guess it really just so happened to benefit you this time huh, spy girl? At least you can know for sure I won't go ahead and kill someone like he fucking did.
[ Because that's supposedly supposed to be a sense of comfort. Such a good job. ]
no subject
[For most people, that probably wouldn't be comforting. For Millium, though, whose sense of normality is skewed even on a good day, which this is very much not...]
...That a promise, then? That you won't do anything like that.
[There's more she wants to say, but she doesn't know how to put it to words. "I'd be sad if you did" isn't really enough. Even if she can't quite describe it, she knows this feeling is more than just "sad." And anything else she can think of... well, she's no Rean. And even if she were, she's not sure there's anything she can add that wouldn't just make Bakugou gag. And were this any other night, she might think that was funny, but it doesn't have the same joy to it right now.]
no subject
God, why is he thinking about that now? It's so...stupid. ]
Yeah, you can say it's a promise. Not gonna do anything like that.
[ Well, why not? Looks like he decided that's what he's going to do. It's not just for her, maybe it's for himself too. So that's why he can't let them all down, or himself down. There are people who are counting on him not to make the same decision Nine did. People he needed to save...to be a Hero even before he's really been made one. ]
no subject
Then it's a promise from me, too.
...Although, I'm sure you don't care if I do or not, right?
[She smiles a little, glancing at him out of the corners of her eyes.]
no subject
I'll fucking kill you if you try something stupid like Nine and die from it.
Doesn't mean I actually care or anything, though. So you're right. I don't care if you make a promise or whatever.
[ Actually what he said not a second ago means he might sort of care now. Hard to believe, but it's already started, though if anyone tries to call him out he'd scream bloody murder, try to explode their face, or something. ]
no subject
[Maybe not the best thing to be giggling about, given their situation, but it's the first time she's sounded more like herself since the trial. That's gotta stand for something.]
But nah, I get it. Don't worry, if anyone else ever hears a peep about this I'll totally let you blow my face off or whatever.
no subject
Without it being extremely annoying. ]
Looks like we're both in agreement, then.
[ ...So he's at least sure no one else's going to hear this and that's good enough for him right now. ]
