Third Week

The peaceful times are over. Moloch von Zinzer was murdered, and Nine was sentenced as his murderer. Everyone in Cartesio knows that.

Although life goes on, it seems the town of Cartesio isn't going to forget the tourists' transgressions. Not only they commited larceny in the cinema, they also murdered and executed in their town! It's no surprise their hospitality towards the visitors has cooled down considerably.

Not only they're maintaining a tense cordiality with them, they also have started talking behind the visitors' backs. All kinds of rumors are starting to sprout, yet nobody seems to be willing to say it to the tourists' faces. Talking directly to most passerby makes them distrustful, and nobody seems to want to be in close quarters alone with them.

It's only matter of time before the relationship between tourists and Cartesio starts degrading even further.

In the lobby of the motel there's a few more brochures, and the maps have been updated once again.

[ Whoopsie daisy, sorry not sorry priest guy. It's fineeee.

But hey, small notebook! Bakugou's going to snatch that and luckily at least leave the other items alone! When he takes it out and opens it, is there anything written in here that's notable? ]

[Once Katsuki grabs it, he'll feel how it's bursting full of stuff. Opening it shows what kind of content it has:

Obituaries.

They're obituaries, lots of them. Judging by the dates, they go all the way to the foundation of the town. It isn't surprising there's couple hundred of them. Almost all of them have a copy of the obituary from the newspaper.

All the obituaries end the same way. They don't say it the exact same way, but the point is always the same: this person was buried in Cartesio. No surprise there, given there's a graveyard not too far away.

Seems like pretty normal stuff, really, just like what you'd expect, but...maybe the contents of this notebook are worth remembering? Who knows.

[ That is extremely morbid, but sure, obituaries would be anyway.

Well, he'll just be taking a note of that, and moving right onto the recent pages. What's on them? ]

[It's more like what isn't on them. There's nothing about the tourist who died in the end of March, or about Moloch or Nine. It's not like their names went unnoticed -- Moloch's and Nine's were printed in the newspaper, after all -- but there's not even a note about them.

It could just be the priest didn't write about them because they had no obituary in the newspaper.

Still...everyone in the notebook had something in common besides, well, being dead. Could that mean something about the tourists who have died in Cartesio so far? Up to you to decide, Katsuki.
