The peaceful times are over. Moloch von Zinzer was murdered, and Nine was sentenced as his murderer. Everyone in Cartesio knows that.
Although life goes on, it seems the town of Cartesio isn't going to forget the tourists' transgressions. Not only they commited larceny in the cinema, they also murdered and executed in their town! It's no surprise their hospitality towards the visitors has cooled down considerably.
Not only they're maintaining a tense cordiality with them, they also have started talking behind the visitors' backs. All kinds of rumors are starting to sprout, yet nobody seems to be willing to say it to the tourists' faces. Talking directly to most passerby makes them distrustful, and nobody seems to want to be in close quarters alone with them.
It's only matter of time before the relationship between tourists and Cartesio starts degrading even further.
In the lobby of the motel there's a few more brochures, and
the maps have been updated once again.

THURSDAY
NEWSPAPER - April 19th
Our town's bustling oil factory suffered a break-in last night, resulting in vandalism and property damage. The tourists were caught red handed by our dutiful foreman, Rean Schwarzer. No charges have been filled at this time, though this journalist is wary of the leniency Mr. Schwarzer has chosen to show.
Strangely enough, with the vandalism also comes a pleasant surprise in the form of a zen garden, set up just outside the oil refinery. While the refinery workers are upset about the damage done to their workplace, they do appreciate the garden. Everyone agrees it was a strange action taken by the vandals, but current plans include leaving the zen garden intact.]

And it worries her, just a little. Makes her think of a few things and it immediately concerns her.
But more than that... she's worried about Millium? Because they can't find the oil factory again. ]
DISAPPEARANCE
Given what he heard happened to Mako, he wasn't willing to take the same risk. Given the rules, he decided distracting the Sergeant would give him the chance to escape. It wasn't that difficult. A few well-aimed rocks towards some windows of the Lodge could be enough. Sandalphon aimed, threw two, three, four rocks into the windows, breaking the glass and making noise. The intention was to make the Sergeant think someone was trying to get through there. He wouldn't have much time, but he expected this to have earned him a couple valuable minutes.
The moment the last rock hit the window he was already running. Sandalphon gathered all his willpower, extended his wings, and took flight. It didn't matter if he overexerted himself, it didn't matter he was slower than usual, he was going to fly out of the town no matter what. The wind helped him, there were no obstacles. He avoided flying towards the town, he kept going into the endless expanse beyond the Lodge, towards the outskirts, out of the town once and for all.
His plan worked well. By the time the Sergeant had rushed to check nobody was getting into the Lodge, found it was a trap, and returned outside, it was too late. Sandalphon was just a speck in the distance. Anyone from any other point of the town would see the same thing -- a black winged shape soaring towards the horizon]
No!
[It was sudden.
Over Sandalphon, the cloudy skies opened, and a blinding pillar of electricity fell onto Sandalphon. Three-feet wide, like a cylinder that struck Sandalphon with unbelievable speed. The noise was so strong it was felt all over town. The effect was immediate -- Sandalphon fell from that height, struck by the thunder, and vanished from everyone's sight.
After a moment of staring, the Sergeant hurried away from the Lodge, going to pick up Sandalphon's most likely dead body.
Sandalphon is dead]

[Eight shots, in rapid succession. Her aim today is worse than yesterday.
She sighs heavily as she lowers her weapon, clearly agitated and distracted. Those who were with her on the mission last night are probably more than aware of why.
Doesn't look like blasting targets is helping her much, though.]
Mgh... okay, okay. Maintenance and reload...
[She's talking herself through this, but she's not being particularly gentle with that revolver. Millium, you can't take out your anger on a gun, please stop.]
[around town]
[The sight of Millium wandering the streets entirely too quickly and not watching where she's going shouldn't be a surprise to anyone at this point.
What might be a little surprising is the look on her face while she's doing it. She has today's paper clutched in her hand, her mouth is set in a thin line and her eyebrows are knit in... anger? Worry? Something as she sets off on whatever her mission is.
Atop her head is a cute little kitty-eared cap, adorned with pom-poms and a pin with a smiling yellow face. Shame it doesn't seem to fit her one bit right now.
Either stop her, or get out of her way, because she's not going to move to avoid anyone in her path.]
[police station - npc interaction]
[She's at least reasonably polite when she enters the police station, just opening the door and quietly making her entrance like a rational human being. She's even speaking at a nice indoor volume when she approaches whoever she can find to talk.]
Hi. Excuse me... [She does have manners! Who knew?] I have a couple of questions about someone.
around town
[ In fact, Sakura's definitely going to run after her because this is important and she actually has something to actually tell her as she chases her rather frantically because, yeah. She's concerned. She's absolutely worried because she knows what this is about. ]

A good birthday present for him would be if tomorrow no one died, and maybe that sounds pretty sad, but that is where we're at today. That being said, he's not sulking, but he's definitely keeping more of an eye out on people. Perhaps out of a sense of necessity than anything, however with Millium, he stops in his walk. ]

[Ominous weather for an ominous day, really.
After all of last night, Kino can be found in the park today, throwing stones into the pond. The traveler has quite the arm judging by the distance on those pebbles as they go flying for the water with tiny splashes.
Until Kino gets a hold of a larger rock and heaves it, too, into the waters. That one causes more of a sploosh.
Feel free to catch Kino either as they're throwing stones or a bit later, when Kino simply falls into a sprawl on the grass to stare moodily at the dark sky. Seems some things can get to the kid after all.]

[This morning Keith's up and about early, and... surprisingly enough, he's not actually wearing his paladin armor. He's wearing dark sweatpants, red T-shirt and a grey hoodie on with the hood pulled up. Whatever he's up to though, it's clear he doesn't necessarily want to be seen as he keeps ducking behind buildings periodically. It kinda looks like... he's trying to follow a group of Cartesio's high schoolers??]
clinic - early afternoon (investigation but also open to PCs!)
[Later in the afternoon, Keith's headed to the town hospital with purpose. Time to figure out a couple of things about this town. Time to go looking for some birth records and peek in at the morgue.]

There's just a lot on her mind and she's not sure what she should do. What can she do?
She closes her eyes in hopes that would calm her, but it doesn't help. So instead she finds herself just looking in the distance. But... people might find her, instead, swimming in the pond as a distraction. It doesn't matter if the clouds are being ominous-- she needs to think about anything else but this. ]

Which means it is time for dreams to no longer just be dreams! The Cartesio drive-in cinema is in the works!!
Cian collects people who are muscular and seem inclined to help at the junkyard to... drag cars over to the edge of the park, aligning them all facing in the same direction. She herself assists pushing from time to time, but her constitution is weak and she's not much help. So mostly, she's walking around offering water bottles to everyone who is helping. ]
Thank you so much, let me know if you need anything!
[ She's beginning to sound like a broken record here.
Later, she can be found in the park sitting on the hood of one of the cars that hopefully have been transported over. She looks super exhausted, wiping sweat off her forehead. ]
I don't... I don't think I've ever exerted myself this much in my life....
[ And even later, you'll find her putting up a sign by the cars that says CARTESIO DRIVE-IN CINEMA - in progress - . ]
... even though there is not much driving involved... maybe we should change the name.

Yes, the sprinkles are rainbow. Shut the fuck up.
Desperate to avoid the inevitable crowds, she storms down the street away from the store, and stops dead partway down the street once a spoonful of ice cream finally ends up in her mouth. She makes a surprised humming sound, takes the spoon out of her mouth, stares down at the ice cream—eyes wide, the closest to soft her expression ever gets—and takes another bite.
They haven't invented ice cream yet in the year negative two thousand, all right, let her live.
Later, just before the sun begins setting, she resumes behaving poorly at the chapel. She looks annoyed as she walks across the back bench of a pew, one foot in front of the other, arms out to keep her balance, right fist clenched around...something small and a little shiny but it can't be discerned from a distance—but something in her expression has glazed over, so she stares out towards nothing at all.
She always has a good sense of what's happening around her, and only does this because she thinks she's alone, but if you time your entrance right, you might catch the moment she whirls around, stomping one foot down on the pew seat, and hurls the thing in her hand against a wall.
Of all things, it's a hair pin. On impact, the arrow and the circle split from each other and clatter to the ground. Clarisse makes a harsh noise, though, only more annoyed as she goes to retrieve them and put them back together.]
Stupid, durable... Damn it!
[calm down it's a hair pin]

[The afternoon finds Hawks rummaging in the clothing store. His jacket is missing currently, and there's a pile of plain colored shirts haphazardly folded near his feet. He's tired of the same outfit everyday, and sleeping half dressed.
With a triumphant "aha!," one last shirt is pulled out and approved of. It joins its contemporaries, before Hawks scoops the whole bundle up into his arms.]

You're such a good boy, Gerard. You must have been waiting for so long, right? I'm not going to let anyone take you away ever again.
[At the diner, he ends up ordering a pizza, carefully cutting it up and forking slices over to the bird sticking a head through the window.]
They don't have bluefin here, but I hope you like it anyways.
[The cheerful "Ar" sound Gerard makes seems like he does.]
[Even later, they go to the park, where Franciscus sits back on a bench and watches Gerard glide overhead, swooping and diving, and just smiles warmly. If anyone appears, he'll gesture at the bird proudly.]

[He's distracted, fidgety, and looks unquestionably nervous about having the priest's attention, if he's got it. Surprisingly, he's dressed somewhat normally - those dated trousers that had been with the change of clothes in the closet paired with a
looted from the ruined clothes storenew shirt and vest.]And after that... he's trying to be less of a recluse. Honest. Might just come off as sort of creepy, but he's at least acknowledging anyone who walks by when he's sitting in the lobby at the motel.
Later, he can be found at the diner, growing visibly frustrated with the jukebox.
