WEEK 3: April 15th - April 19th

Third Week

The peaceful times are over. Moloch von Zinzer was murdered, and Nine was sentenced as his murderer. Everyone in Cartesio knows that.

Although life goes on, it seems the town of Cartesio isn't going to forget the tourists' transgressions. Not only they commited larceny in the cinema, they also murdered and executed in their town! It's no surprise their hospitality towards the visitors has cooled down considerably.

Not only they're maintaining a tense cordiality with them, they also have started talking behind the visitors' backs. All kinds of rumors are starting to sprout, yet nobody seems to be willing to say it to the tourists' faces. Talking directly to most passerby makes them distrustful, and nobody seems to want to be in close quarters alone with them.

It's only matter of time before the relationship between tourists and Cartesio starts degrading even further.

In the lobby of the motel there's a few more brochures, and the maps have been updated once again.

I'll... probably be fine. [ And for the record there's no supernatural pings outside of the people in their group right now, right? ]

[ None! It's just your usual, dark creepy night, without ghosts. ]

Hah. "Probably"'s a great way to end up dead.

[but like she'll leave it alone if she can't TERRORIZE THE CHILD... there's no point if she's gonna be chill about it!! geez!!!!]

I don't sense anything, so it's fine. I'll be able to figure something out by myself if I have to.

Well, I'm out here, anyway! Do you have any card games or anything we can play while we wait?

[clearities]

Um... I don't have any card games, unfortunately. I only have the one card that I got, but it's not a normal card.

I spy probably isn't going to be very fun given how foggy it is, either.

[clearities]

Unfortunately... um, what about a word game? Like word association, or maybe shiritori?

[protectandselfserve]

Or twenty questions or charades! Those might be fun.

[clearities]

Ooh, twenty questions would be nice! You can start.

[protectandselfserve]

Start asking the questions, you mean?

[cartesio]

[After a while, someone seems to approach. From the sounds of their steps, it's a small group of people. When they get closer, you can see they're all wearing helmets and gas masks.

One of them, with a different uniform than the others, steps forward]

Hey! You two. Please get inside.

[Not too far from them, part of the fence opens, like a gate. Looks like they want you inside for...something.

What may be disquieting is that Sakura may find the voice familiar. The face is hidden because of the gas mask, but although the voice is a bit distorted because of it, it still sounds a bit familiar]

Oh, come on. We were playing twenty questions!

[...but damnit, there's more of them than there is of Sakura and Gant, and they're wearing uniforms... it's probably better to play along.]

Well, Cherry, guess it's time to go inside, huh?

[cartesio]

Thank you. You know, for cooperating.

[The chief seems to sound truly grateful about that]

[clearities]

--eh!? [ The voice is familiar and cuts through whatever answer she was going to give. But while she can't place it entirely due to the distortion and the fact that it's a couple of people, that's. Definitely a thing. Can she tell if the voice is a male or a female? ] But... why? [ She doesn't move just yet because she's just really surprised, but she'll do it if coerced a little more. ]

[cartesio]

Some of your friends over there broke a camera and...I'm pretty sure they're painting everywhere?

[Who'd have thought that wouldn't go unnoticed]

Please, come with us. We're not trying to give you a hard time.

['What?!' 'You know what they're doing, chief!' 'They're ruining stuff!'

The protests from some of the workers gets the leader to turn around and face them, which seems to be enough to quiet them down, there's even a few apologies about how they got angry. Whoever this man is, he has authority here born from respect]

[clearities]

I'm really sorry about them... [ She frowns a little, bowing from the waist down politely. ] But okay. I'll follow you.

[protectandselfserve]

[He... puts his hands up, then.]

Ah, I guess they're busted, huh? Well, I tried to talk them out of going in there.

I hope the workers appreciate the nice zen garden some of the young men made, though! It's very nice. Probably very good for morale.

[protectandselfserve]

Wellllll....... she's not the only one who doesn't want to deal with this. Not everyone feels like getting their hands dirty.

[snideper]

Buddy up together, then. Good luck out here in the dark and the fog, but you're half a step away from just being a sitting duck.
