WEEK 3: April 15th - April 19th

Third Week

The peaceful times are over. Moloch von Zinzer was murdered, and Nine was sentenced as his murderer. Everyone in Cartesio knows that.

Although life goes on, it seems the town of Cartesio isn't going to forget the tourists' transgressions. Not only they commited larceny in the cinema, they also murdered and executed in their town! It's no surprise their hospitality towards the visitors has cooled down considerably.

Not only they're maintaining a tense cordiality with them, they also have started talking behind the visitors' backs. All kinds of rumors are starting to sprout, yet nobody seems to be willing to say it to the tourists' faces. Talking directly to most passerby makes them distrustful, and nobody seems to want to be in close quarters alone with them.

It's only matter of time before the relationship between tourists and Cartesio starts degrading even further.

In the lobby of the motel there's a few more brochures, and the maps have been updated once again.

[Kino's still got the gun pointed at the ground, finger over, but not on the trigger.]

Since I moved here. It wasn't too long ago.

[Still...this level of rapport with the workers -- and the rank he has -- isn't obtained in a short time, that's for sure]

I— but you're not... you came here three weeks ago with me, we didn't "move" here, we...?!

[Millium.exe has crashed. Give her a minute or twenty to reboot...]

[Olympia doesn't move, but she makes a show of watching closely.]

[If anyone wants to get the child out of here, they're going to have to take her. Rean has taken priority.]

[Okay that's enough. Olympia picks Millium up again.]

[At the mention of their classmates, Rean's face shows guilt. He steps back, worried]

I know, I know. I just...everything will be okay. Trust me on this one.

[He still remembers everything about his canon, that's for sure. Despite the current situation, and despite the bizarre fact he's a foreman in a refinery, this undoubtedly is Rean, with all his memories, relationships and thoughts]

We can talk again later, Millium. Right now you all have to leave. The guys are going to get angry if they keep seeing all of you here because... [He waves a hand. Does he need to mention anything?] ...but if you come back here, we can keep talking. I promise.

[Well, it's a good thing Olympia's hauling her out of here like a sack of potatoes, isn't it?]

[She trusts Rean with her life. She's still not sure on this one.

I don't see why you can't leave the town. Besides the obvious -- you can't leave the town if you're in jail.

Wellllll, there are some extenuating circumstances that I'm not sure you'd believe right now.

But hey, I'm fine leaving now! Who else wants to head out and go back to bed?

I don't think we're going to find that out here and now, I'm afraid. We might have to look into it a little harder, but that'd probably be better after a good sleep.
