WEEK 3: April 15th - April 19th

Third Week

The peaceful times are over. Moloch von Zinzer was murdered, and Nine was sentenced as his murderer. Everyone in Cartesio knows that.

Although life goes on, it seems the town of Cartesio isn't going to forget the tourists' transgressions. Not only they commited larceny in the cinema, they also murdered and executed in their town! It's no surprise their hospitality towards the visitors has cooled down considerably.

Not only they're maintaining a tense cordiality with them, they also have started talking behind the visitors' backs. All kinds of rumors are starting to sprout, yet nobody seems to be willing to say it to the tourists' faces. Talking directly to most passerby makes them distrustful, and nobody seems to want to be in close quarters alone with them.

It's only matter of time before the relationship between tourists and Cartesio starts degrading even further.

In the lobby of the motel there's a few more brochures, and the maps have been updated once again.

[She glances around for a few moments before heading towards a dress, holding it up once she has it.]

Something like this...? I'm not sure if it would go with your hair, though.

Hm...

I like it! I do usually go with blue, buuuut I wore a pretty similar color for school n' I think I made it work!

[Success!]

[robitussin]

[There's a sense of mild relief as she hands the dress to her, nodding.]

Okay. Well... Good. I'm glad you like it.

[doublelammy]

[Millium takes it gratefully.]

...Can I find you something? No bows.

[robitussin]

You don't have to. I mean... Only if you want to.

[doublelammy]

I want to! That's why I'm asking.

[Smile!]

Any other big 'no's?

[robitussin]

[A pause, as she thinks.]

Nothing too bright. Um... No glitter?

[doublelammy]

[Nod, nod.]

Dresses: yes, no? Since you didn't like the one from before...

[robitussin]

...Probably a no. I only wear them when I have to.

[doublelammy]

'Kay. Top it is, then!

[And off she goes, pawing through racks again!

She'll be gone for a few minutes, although she can occasionally be heard humming to herself in thought throughout the store. After a bit, though:]

Found something~! [And she holds up a grey top.] Whaddaya think of this?

[robitussin]

[She still looks uncertain as she reaches out to take the top, but there's something grateful about her demeanor, too.]

...It's nice. Thanks.

[It's quiet, but sincere enough.]

[doublelammy]

[Even if Natalie's still uncertain and awkward, Millium seems happy enough about this. She's smiling ear to ear, even.]

Hee... it's fun, doing that. I don't really get to go shopping with other girls...

[The last time she remembers having a fun shopping trip was... with Rean, actually. About a year ago. ...Funnily enough, he had about the same reaction to the lacy undergarments.]

[robitussin]

...Yeah. It's not exactly a frequent thing for me, either.

[Read: probably never.]

[doublelammy]

I mean, I've got my work uniforms n' stuff, so it wasn't really super useful for me to have real people clothes 'til I went to Thors, y'know?

And I didn't really think about askin' anyone to go with me when Claire gave me money for that then. Rean just kinda came along on his own.

[robitussin]

...Sounds nice of him, I guess. Did you do stuff like that a lot?

[doublelammy]

Not clothes shopping, but lots of other stuff! He took me to a bunch of stuff at our school festival, brought me back candy from Crossbell, played tag with me at the pool...

[Talking about him, like when she spoke of Jusis before, clearly makes her happy.]

He's a really great guy.

[But hey, she can't talk about herself forever.]

Do you normally do stuff with anyone?

[robitussin]

Tell me how you really feel about him, Millium.

[It’s said with a joking tone, but that fades when that question comes. There’s a moment of surprise that’s quickly followed up by... It’s hard to tell the exact emotion, but her expression falls slightly. It’s brief, though, before she shrugs in an attempt to play it off.]

Not really. I don’t have time for that kind of thing.

[doublelammy]

Ehehe... not like that. He is pretty cute, and I bet he's gonna make someone real happy someday, but me? Nope. [She shakes her head. Well... at least that's one potential ending to this harem anime out of the running, thank Aidios.] He's family.

[She's quiet as Natalie continues, and she catches that fall, but... hm. This time, she'll bite her tongue on that. It's best not to push too far with Natalie.]

Oh, really? What kinda stuff do you do at home?

[robitussin]

...You must be looking forward to seeing him again.

[muffled ooc laughter from beyond the fourth wall—]

Studying, mostly. I want to get into a good school.

[doublelammy]

Yeah. He's great.

[ahahaha]

Ohhh... okay. I never really had to worry about anything like that, but I had a friend who did...

[Too much...]

[robitussin]

[She nods, continuing.]

Yeah. I don't know about where you're from, but it can be pretty tough where I'm from. College is pretty expensive, and it's not like my parents are poor or anything, but...

[doublelammy]

I can't say I know too much about that either... but I think it's kinda the same way.

Machias – one of my other friends – he used to always say that a commoner could do anything a noble can if they give it their all. ...But then he'd wind up going off on tangents about now nobles just got the entire world handed to 'em on silver stuff n' then I kinda stopped listening.

[robitussin]

He's not exactly wrong.

[Still, though, she meant it a little differently.]

It's more like... I don't want to owe them anything. My parents, I mean. Besides, if they pay for part of it, they're going to have some kind of say in where I go.

[doublelammy]

[Ah, this... this is something she doesn't entirely understand, but. Gently, she'll try to figure it out:]

You don't want your parents to control you, basically?

[...It's the best she's got. Her own... "parental"... experience is extremely limited, after all.]

[robitussin]

[It's not that it's a bad guess, given what she's said, but she shakes her head anyways.]

Nah, not quite. I don't think they'd try to do that.
