The peaceful times are over. Moloch von Zinzer was murdered, and Nine was sentenced as his murderer. Everyone in Cartesio knows that.
Although life goes on, it seems the town of Cartesio isn't going to forget the tourists' transgressions. Not only they commited larceny in the cinema, they also murdered and executed in their town! It's no surprise their hospitality towards the visitors has cooled down considerably.
Not only they're maintaining a tense cordiality with them, they also have started talking behind the visitors' backs. All kinds of rumors are starting to sprout, yet nobody seems to be willing to say it to the tourists' faces. Talking directly to most passerby makes them distrustful, and nobody seems to want to be in close quarters alone with them.
It's only matter of time before the relationship between tourists and Cartesio starts degrading even further.
In the lobby of the motel there's a few more brochures, and
the maps have been updated once again.

DISAPPEARANCE
Given what he heard happened to Mako, he wasn't willing to take the same risk. Given the rules, he decided distracting the Sergeant would give him the chance to escape. It wasn't that difficult. A few well-aimed rocks towards some windows of the Lodge could be enough. Sandalphon aimed, threw two, three, four rocks into the windows, breaking the glass and making noise. The intention was to make the Sergeant think someone was trying to get through there. He wouldn't have much time, but he expected this to have earned him a couple valuable minutes.
The moment the last rock hit the window he was already running. Sandalphon gathered all his willpower, extended his wings, and took flight. It didn't matter if he overexerted himself, it didn't matter he was slower than usual, he was going to fly out of the town no matter what. The wind helped him, there were no obstacles. He avoided flying towards the town, he kept going into the endless expanse beyond the Lodge, towards the outskirts, out of the town once and for all.
His plan worked well. By the time the Sergeant had rushed to check nobody was getting into the Lodge, found it was a trap, and returned outside, it was too late. Sandalphon was just a speck in the distance. Anyone from any other point of the town would see the same thing -- a black winged shape soaring towards the horizon]
No!
[It was sudden.
Over Sandalphon, the cloudy skies opened, and a blinding pillar of electricity fell onto Sandalphon. Three-feet wide, like a cylinder that struck Sandalphon with unbelievable speed. The noise was so strong it was felt all over town. The effect was immediate -- Sandalphon fell from that height, struck by the thunder, and vanished from everyone's sight.
After a moment of staring, the Sergeant hurried away from the Lodge, going to pick up Sandalphon's most likely dead body.
Sandalphon is dead]
