WEEK 3: April 15th - April 19th

Third Week

The peaceful times are over. Moloch von Zinzer was murdered, and Nine was sentenced as his murderer. Everyone in Cartesio knows that.

Although life goes on, it seems the town of Cartesio isn't going to forget the tourists' transgressions. Not only they commited larceny in the cinema, they also murdered and executed in their town! It's no surprise their hospitality towards the visitors has cooled down considerably.

Not only they're maintaining a tense cordiality with them, they also have started talking behind the visitors' backs. All kinds of rumors are starting to sprout, yet nobody seems to be willing to say it to the tourists' faces. Talking directly to most passerby makes them distrustful, and nobody seems to want to be in close quarters alone with them.

It's only matter of time before the relationship between tourists and Cartesio starts degrading even further.

In the lobby of the motel there's a few more brochures, and the maps have been updated once again.

He just needs to learn to stop picking on people. I dunno what his beef with us is, but we didn't deserve this. Maybe if we figure out what his ultimate goal is, we can find a way t'beat 'im.

Right, right.

People keep sayin' he has his "orders" or whatever, so there's probably someone past him we're gonna have t'beat the snot out of too... 'cause man, I thought Gramps had some weird ideas sometimes, but this is just way too much.

You think there's someone who's got more power over him? Like, a bigger bad?

Almost always is, in my experience.

'Sides. There are ranks above Sergeant, right?

I mean, I guess. i dunno much about army ranks, though.

I can't say I know too much, either. I don't work with the army, so most of what I know is just kinda stuff I've picked up... but I'm pretty sure it goes higher than him.

You'd hafta be a real sicko to come up with all of this just on your lonesome, anywho. Which, he totally is, but that doesn't match up with what some've the people who've met with him have said about how he's different when you catch 'im alone.

I haven't gone t'see him myself yet, so I only know from, like, Sakura n' stuff... but just like. Nicer? N' like he doesn't really wanna do this.

I dunno if that's true or Sakura just doesn't want him to be evil, though.

[And that's said not disparagingly, but lovingly. Millium likes Sakura quite a bit, and Sakura's heart is in the right place... but.]

[Osomatsu understands that but. not everyone has good in them, like Sakura may believe]

Weird. He sure seemed like he wanted to do this stuff, yanno? Like, he got pleasure out of us all trying to solve his mysteries.

Yeah... and he keeps getting mad when we don't do things exactly his way, so it's like...

I dunno. I've said it before, but if there's some goal here and he wants anyone to work with him, he's goin' entirely the wrong way about it.

[hm. Osomatsu nods, finding that he agrees with her completely]

...Maybe someone should ask him what his ultimate goal is. I wonder if he’d tell us.

Mmm... I feel like someone tried and his answer was something like "if I tell you it'll ruin everything?"

Maybe it's worth another shot, though.
