Week 3: Trial

April 20th. It was now time for the trial.

When everyone arrives at the trial room, the tribunes are already filled with townspeople. Compared to last week, there's less morbid curiosity and more quiet outrage. Everyone's glaring at the visitors while they enter the courtroom.

The number of podiums draped in black has increased dramatically. Nine's, Mako's, Sandalphon's, and Bakugou's have joined Moloch's, raising the number to five. That's one sixth of the available podiums. How many more will be covered in black velvet before these two months end?

Once everyone is at the right podium, the Sergeant bangs his gavel. He doesn't seem to be in better mood than before.

"Today the victim is Katsuki Bakugou. Solve it."

Without even bothering to taunt or be as antagonistic as usual, he waves the gavel. Five small photos appear on the podiums.

            

"When it's time, you shall cast your vote. Write it on paper or put the photo inside the slot, I don't really care about how you do it. What matters is that you actually do it. Start your discussion."

The trial room went completely silent, all the visitors can feel the attentive stares of the townspeople gathered to watch. It's up to them now to find the culprit.

Let the trial begin.

Are there any abilities we're overlooking? Sting-san and Olympia-san claim that some of their powers aren't working, but... for example, Keith-san has "half Galra" as a power, and I have no idea what that means.

It doesn't mean anything. I'm half-Galra, that's all.

I'm ... very sorry if this is a sensitive subject. I just have never heard of Galra before.

[He's decidedly prickly about this topic, yep. But he was already a bit prickly because of circumstances so...]

[People've seen a pic of Krolia from the motive last week, so that's probably at least a little helpful.]

Apparently when i fight seriously my eyes change. Not exactly a useful power.

That's it, huh.... yeah, unless they change into dart shooters, we're back where we started.

[she just kind of sighs.]

Well, at least that's one possibility eliminated.

If we're considering people with superhuman strength, that would be... Miss Olympia and Mr. Eucliffe, wouldn't it?

That's true. ...We've been looking at Olympia-san a lot, but not a lot at Sting-san. I don't know if there's anything that points to him specifically though. Unless he was eating the back of the orange peel because it was white.

Does that grant you any unusual abilities?

Not really. It just changes how I look.

[Pointing to that mark on his right cheek.]
