Fifth Week

Everything's getting worse. Rose Nylund and Frasier Crane murdered Jughead Jones during the event Jughead worked so hard to organize. Given some of the townspeople were in attendance, it didn't give a good impression -- if the visitors did this when trying to be good people and get along with Cartesio, then how will they behave once they get into destroying everything? The cruel method of Jughead's death also left everyone quite horrified, too.

That may be why it's no surprise the town's quiet unrest is slowly turning into real, tangible fury.

During the week, from time to time stones break some of the windows of the motel, looking outside shows a random passerby running away. Graffiti is left on the walls: 'SEE IF YOU LIKE THIS' 'MURDERERS' 'YOU'RE GOING TO DESTROY US ALL', and other similar messages. Some of the store owners hesitate when the visitors approach, but they don't refuse service because money is always nice.

The Sergeant's pervasive influence is starting to cover not only you, but also the entire town of Cartesio. After all, everything that's happening to you and the motel? It's the result of what you and the other visitors have done.

In the lobby of the motel there's a few more brochures, and the maps have been updated once again.

[Wednesday morning, Franciscus is dressed in the camo suit again. It becomes clear why when he starts working on the lobby mural, making sure not to cover up anyone else's contributions too much. His strokes are steady enough, and slowly he paints out two creatures, with Sky Forme Shaymin leaping gracefully over Land Forme Shaymin so that the curves of belly and back fit together, along with various colorful flowers as border decoration. When he's done, he grins, looking pleased at his work.]

Looks nice, doesn't it? [He'll ask anyone who happens by.]

It does, but what is it?

It's Shaymin, my Patron Legendary Pokemon, in both their Sky and Land Formes. Their domains are trickery and plant growth. It was Osomatsu's suggestion, to add them to the mural.

They're really cute... but trickery?

They're one of the smaller Legendaries, after all. So at times they need to rely on their wits. Although according to some stories, they also just enjoy playing pranks on people.

Oh, wow! You're a really good artist!

What are they? They're cute...

It's the two forms of my patron Legendary Pokemon, Shaymin. Their domains are trickery and nature. Osomatsu suggested I add it to the mural.

Patron Legendary Pokemon?

...Your god is like a cute fluffy hedgehog thing?

[I mean, that's not an inaccurate description.] They are one of the smaller Legendaries. [Maybe the smallest, even.] Though that does not mean they are weak or powerless. My own plant growth abilities are paltry compared to what they can do.

[doublelammy]

[Millium nods sagely.]

As a fellow tiny powerhouse, I appreciate it immensely.

[That gets a definite chuckle out of him.] I'm sure they'd be pleased to know that. Though they're reclusive, like a lot of Legendaries are, so I'm afraid you'll have to admire them from afar.

[doublelammy]

Ehehe... that's all right. 'Sides, aside from Gerard, I dunno if I'm ever gonna see a Pokemon, Legendary or otherwise.

Well, apparently one of the people who was here with you before has Pokemon working with him, from the note Kino found. So maybe you will get the chance after all.

[doublelammy]

Oh, right... Faba, the bean guy, he was growin' berries from your world, right?

[silvertongueheir]

He was. It seems his Pokemon were returned to him as well.

[doublelammy]

Huh.

I dunno if I wanna run back into him, though. He was kind of a jerk.

[silvertongueheir]

Maybe you'll be fortunate enough to just see his Pokemon, then. Did he ever mention what kinds he had?

[doublelammy]

Nah. That would've been interesting. [Sigh!] He was more interested in defending his stupid bean glasses as being the height of fashion and telling me how I could never understand.

Which, I mean, he's right, but.

[silvertongueheir]

[A pause as he considers.] Did he ever mention what region he was from?

[doublelammy]

Again: That woulda actually been interesting.

Sorry. I didn't get to know much about the guy other than he likes to wear his own butt for a hat.

[silvertongueheir]

Hm. Well, I hope I've given you a much clearer picture of our world.

[doublelammy]

A little, yeah.

It sounds really nice. I kinda wish I could see it.

[silvertongueheir]

Maybe when we get out of here, I'll have the chance.

[doublelammy]

Ehe... I dunno.

When I get outta here, I'm... probably gonna have to go right home again. Work to do, an' all that.

[...She sounds kind of sad about that, though.]

But maybe someday I'll get a vacation, and I can visit? I mean, Sarge brought us all here together. There's gotta be a way to get to you from where I'll be, too.

[She doesn't sound as sure of that as she'd like, but so it is.]

I suppose that applies to several of us here. [He does have his own team as well, after all.]

But I'll definitely talk to Shaun about it. If there isn't any way, I'm sure he'll be able to figure one out. He's fascinated with alternate dimensions, after all.
