Fifth Week

Everything's getting worse. Rose Nylund and Frasier Crane murdered Jughead Jones during the event Jughead worked so hard to organize. Given some of the townspeople were in attendance, it didn't give a good impression -- if the visitors did this when trying to be good people and get along with Cartesio, then how will they behave once they get into destroying everything? The cruel method of Jughead's death also left everyone quite horrified, too.

That may be why it's no surprise the town's quiet unrest is slowly turning into real, tangible fury.

During the week, from time to time stones break some of the windows of the motel, looking outside shows a random passerby running away. Graffiti is left on the walls: 'SEE IF YOU LIKE THIS' 'MURDERERS' 'YOU'RE GOING TO DESTROY US ALL', and other similar messages. Some of the store owners hesitate when the visitors approach, but they don't refuse service because money is always nice.

The Sergeant's pervasive influence is starting to cover not only you, but also the entire town of Cartesio. After all, everything that's happening to you and the motel? It's the result of what you and the other visitors have done.

In the lobby of the motel there's a few more brochures, and the maps have been updated once again.

Yeah, drawing's definitely a good time for everyone! [unless you're a dark person and you want to draw scary things, probably] My brother, Ichimatsu, is really good at it. Me, not so much, but I love to do it anyway.

Ehe... I'm not very good at it either, I don't think, but I don't really care.

What kinds of things do you like to draw?

Ohhhh... Anything, really! I like to draw animals a lot, and sometimes, if I try hard, I can draw decent-lookin' people.

[Millium seems excited about the prospect of animals, at least.]

Ooh! Can you draw a bunny?

[She holds out a crayon.]

[Osomatsu takes the crayon, then draws a simple rabbit in a clear space]

[She claps her hands delightedly.]

Aaa, it's so cute...! Ehehe. I really like bunnies... my codename, back home, it's "White Rabbit."

Whoa, you have a codename? That's badass! [now it really makes Millium sound like a spy]

My sister, she's got a partner like Lammy but black, so she's "Black Rabbit."

I see! [interesting] That's pretty neat, like you have a theme going... Are you rabbits 'cause you're so fast?

[A beat.]

Ehehe. Actually, I dunno, but it sounds cool, doesn't it?

Really cool! It's like you're a super hero! I want a codename, too! Like Red Herring.

[are you sure you want that to be your codename, Osomatsu?]

...Like a fish?

[you do you, Oso, but that's really unimpressive sounding]

A red herring is something that... uh... Distracts from the bigger picture! You know? Maybe I'm like your sidekick, so I distract the badguys while you get away with the goods. Or the info. Or whatever you're sneaking away with.

[he thinks he's clever]

Oh! That actually sounds really awesome, when you put it like that!

[She's so easily impressed...]

Okay! Red Herring it is! Welcome to the team, partner~!

[It's at least fun to joke about things like this, even if she hasn't been feeling particularly attached to her job lately. It can at least count here, right?]

[yeah! he's part of a team! he'll take a red crayon and draw a fish next to the bunny. what does a herring even look like? who knows, he just draws a generic fish]
