Fifth Week

Everything's getting worse. Rose Nylund and Frasier Crane murdered Jughead Jones during the event Jughead worked so hard to organize. Given some of the townspeople were in attendance, it didn't give a good impression -- if the visitors did this when trying to be good people and get along with Cartesio, then how will they behave once they get into destroying everything? The cruel method of Jughead's death also left everyone quite horrified, too.

That may be why it's no surprise the town's quiet unrest is slowly turning into real, tangible fury.

During the week, from time to time stones break some of the windows of the motel, looking outside shows a random passerby running away. Graffiti is left on the walls: 'SEE IF YOU LIKE THIS' 'MURDERERS' 'YOU'RE GOING TO DESTROY US ALL', and other similar messages. Some of the store owners hesitate when the visitors approach, but they don't refuse service because money is always nice.

The Sergeant's pervasive influence is starting to cover not only you, but also the entire town of Cartesio. After all, everything that's happening to you and the motel? It's the result of what you and the other visitors have done.

In the lobby of the motel there's a few more brochures, and the maps have been updated once again.

[well, at least this person he can deal with. he doesn't know if he'd speak if Kino was here. he stands up from where he was crouched, looking at an oven, tucking his hands into his pockets and turning his attention to Natalie]

[A pause.]

Well, what do you want to make?

[a pause... he thinks about it]

I... I dunno. Maybe... Something hot. Like a stew, or curry.

[robitussin]

...Yeah, both of those things are pretty solidly outside of my wheelhouse. Sorry.

[relieable]

[heh... it figures... Osomatsu gives her a tired smile anyway]

Well, if you wanna make something else, I'll help you. I'm just... not sure where we're gonna buy food, and stuff. [could've gotten something from the diner, maybe, BUT]

[robitussin]

[She shrugs.]

There's the bakery and the tavern, I guess?

[relieable]

[ohhhh... right, those places!]

You think they'd be willing to hand over ingredients? [after what happened]

[robitussin]

[She pauses.]

I mean, it won't kill us to ask.

[relieable]

[she's right]

No, but it could hurt us. We go in there, askin' for help, they throw rocks at us...

[robitussin]

[A pause.]

Fair enough, but they could do that at any time.

[relieable]

[he was mostly joking... mostly]

...That's true. [a sigh, he takes his hands out of his pockets and then grins at her] So, I guess this means we're askin'. Think about what you wanna make, so we know what ingredients we need.

[robitussin]

[She shrugs.]

Whatever sounds good to you, honestly, as long as it's not too complicated.

[relieable]

I have no idea what is and what isn't complicated for you, you know.

[robitussin]

...Fair enough.

[A pause.]

Do you know anything about American food?

[relieable]

Not... really. I eat a burger every now and then, but I wouldn't know the first thing about cooking one.
