Week 5: Investigation

You wake to the heat breaking in the morning. It's actually morning, bright. Sunny. Probably all of you are pleased to have gotten through the night with sleep, or at least with no sudden gunshots and impromptu investigation.

Cherish that brief bliss. Enjoy your morning routine, as long as it's in the motel. Once you leave the motel, you see, it's obvious something awful's happened again. Someone has taken the Sergeant's bait.

Because, right outside the very door of the building you sleep in, there's a broken body to greet you.

if there’s nothing else to see on lammy, then he’ll take it off of millium’s corpse and give her a good look. besides the broken neck, does she have any visible injuries? ]

[ Not on Lammy but near... He'll actually find this while looking over Lammy's arm. They're tiny, almost too small to notice, but definitely there. Flecks of beige-tan paint, speckling the connector joint. ]

[ he’ll give the area a glance— is there any more of that paint around him? ]

[ No, no more paint. ]

[ alright then, can he start looking at millium’s body? ]

[cartesio]

[Go ahead, Oda. Where would you like to start? There's plenty!

The first cursory look will show the obvious, first than all: Millium is underneath Lammy, or at least most of Lammy. That can't have been fun]

[ god he hopes that she was dead before being crushed under the robot.

anyways, he’ll do his best to push lammy, in order to get a good look at the corpse. besides the broken neck, what else is off about this? ]

[It may not be nice to see that Millium's body is in a very sorry state. Thankfully it's not mangled or anything, but touching her arms and legs and the such hint broken bones. Ouch]

[ well fuck. does she also have any bruises or marks that don’t coincide with falling from a building? ]

[There's something a bit off. Millium has a lot of bruises, but most of them are on her back. Her front doesn't have any bruises.

Worth remembering Millium was found lying on her back]

[ alright, alright. he’ll check if there’s anything in her pockets? a confession letter please? ]

[No notes or confession letters, unfortunately. It's all empty. Sorry, Oda]

[ what about signs of fighting back? he’ll check for those too ]

[Nothing that could indicate she fought back, Oda]

[ he grits his teeth.

are there any other wounds on her at all, besides the bruising and the broken bones? ]

[No injuries other than those Oda saw. Is that something to be relieved about? Who knows]
