Week 5: Investigation

You wake to the heat breaking in the morning. It's actually morning, bright. Sunny. Probably all of you are pleased to have gotten through the night with sleep, or at least with no sudden gunshots and impromptu investigation.

Cherish that brief bliss. Enjoy your morning routine, as long as it's in the motel. Once you leave the motel, you see, it's obvious something awful's happened again. Someone has taken the Sergeant's bait.

Because, right outside the very door of the building you sleep in, there's a broken body to greet you.

[Franciscus seems in a rather good mood at he leaves Room 31 in the morning. After a quick trip back to his own room to clean up and straighten himself out, he opens the door.]

[There is no amount of sunshine and nice weather that's going to make Keith less tense this morning. What's going on....]

[Seeing the commotion and the broken robot outside, Niwa just stays in for now. There's nothing she can contribute to a scene of heartbreak like that. Her feathers are still ruffled though - she'd plucked a few off her literal cloak in the night, tiring of their stains from the diner ashes, but hearing Oda scream is what really sent a chill down her spine.

Of course, she doesn't need to physically go outside to look. She'll send her birds out searching the town, and meanwhile, she'll just walk around the lobby.]

BODY ANNOUNCEMENT

[The Sergeant doesn't wave, he stays on the edge of the roof, hands behind his back. Once Niwa and later Keith arrive, he speaks. Everywhere in the town, no matter where the tourists are at, they hear his voice, as if it's projected directly into their heads:]

Millium Orion, Azura, and Cian Reikado have perished. In light of the number of victims, I shall give you more time than usual. I'll see you all in court at sunset.

[He sounds kind of subdued, and knowing him, it can't be because there are three victims. Still! His job is done. Without another word, the Sergeant steps over the edge of the roof, letting himself fall off the rooftop. Nobody will find trace of him -- not that searching for him is important. There's three people to avenge!]
