Week 5: Investigation

You wake to the heat breaking in the morning. It's actually morning, bright. Sunny. Probably all of you are pleased to have gotten through the night with sleep, or at least with no sudden gunshots and impromptu investigation.

Cherish that brief bliss. Enjoy your morning routine, as long as it's in the motel. Once you leave the motel, you see, it's obvious something awful's happened again. Someone has taken the Sergeant's bait.

Because, right outside the very door of the building you sleep in, there's a broken body to greet you.

[ There is in fact something in her pockets. It's a note. And...

Well, it's a note signed from Keith. ]

[Well it seems her part of the investigation has concluded without much fanfare, so she'll come peek over Keith's shoulder.]

What'd you find?

[.....Excuse me what the fuck.

She'll be reading the contents of this letter, then.]

[ It's small. Short and too the point:

Millium -
Please meet me on the roof at six. I have something important to discuss.

...Yep. ]

[pecker]

[side eyes.]

I. I think.... I should take this.

[She just yoinks the note, presses it to her chest and immediately starts skittering away toward the stairs. No more of this!]

[marmoron]

[What's this look for, Niwa??]

....What? What does it say?

[pecker]

[She pauses before the stairs and looks at him over her shoulder. Hesitantly watching for a reaction.]

...It's addressed to Millium-san.

[marmoron]

[Keith glances back down at Cian's body, his eyes focused on her face.]

I don't get it. Why would Cian write a letter to Milium?

[pecker]

.... Cian-san's name isn't on it, though. [She frowns.] Why she would have this letter sure is a good question.

It's a request for Millium-san to meet up here, but... Keith. [Might as well be blunt.] It says it's from you.

[marmoron]

[That's getting a hard pause in his movements.]
