Week 5 - Trial

Week 5: Trial

Last time it was at dawn. Now it's at sunset. The Sergeant gave everyone plenty of time to investigate and gather evidence, and now that everyone entered the courtroom, he slammed his gavel.
"I can sense a few of you are feeling rather hostile. Remember you're in a courtroom, and you're being watched by everyone in town"

People's opinions of the visitors are already very low, but there's no need to feed them further with a brawl in the courtroom -- or so the Sergeant thinks. There are more podiums draped in black now. Five more people died, seventeen people are alive. How many will be left once the trial is over?

"This time we have three victims in total. Millium Orion, Cian Reikado, and Azura were the unfortunate victims last night, and now you shall debate and decide who is responsible for this.

These are your suspects. Vote for as many as you think are responsible for these crimes"

Let the trial begin.

[HMMM. bad. an empty podium on one side of him, and a suspect on the other. Osomatsu's pretty upset right now, it's been a bad week, but he at least came with most of his evidence. the broken pole-like object pieces stay near, and the other things are set on his podium]

So, when I was in the junkyard, too, I found a pile of stuff that... Is probably relevant? I mean, it was melted, and there was ash at the bottom of the pile. There's this. [the pole] The ends of it are melted, and it was broken in half. I think it was a weapon. And then... [gestures to the clump of metal] It was also melted. It might be gold? Lastly, I found a matchbox, that's also a little crispy. [but you can still tell it's a matchbox]

Also... there was this... really bad smell near the ashes. Something was burned, but I don't... know what that something was. I just know it was really gross.

Someone had taken a matchbox from the hardware store, and seemingly attempted to conceal it.

I don't see how fire from a match could... melt metal. Maybe if they used a bunch of matches, it would get hot enough.

Or they could potentially ignite some other fuel that would produce a higher temperature.

Was there anything like that around? Besides the paint. Paint shouldn't get hot enough to melt metal. It's a liquid, so it doesn't burn easily. The most dangerous part about it is probably the fumes.

I did not see any liquid around where I was. Everything was pretty dry.

So maybe the accelerant was whatever burned up? I still have a hard time believing someone could make a flame hot enough outdoors, though. Unless someone's hiding a secret fire power.

But maybe the more important question is what the gold is from, not how it burned. [ Maybe?? Who knows. ]

That's what I wanna know. [he likes this clump of gold a lot] All our money is in our debit cards, right? I haven't seen any banks around here. [yet]

Maybe some accessories or something from the casino. [ He's never been so he has no idea if there's anything gold there, though. ] Could be someone trying to waste our time too, but it's a lot of effort for that.
unfashionably: frowning, bit perplexed (you try to explain)

Gold? Isn't that stuff hard to melt?
relieable: (and i'm covered in maple syrup)

That's what I'm thinking. The fire would've had to be really intense. Not only was the gold melted into a clump, but the metal from this pole was melted, too.

And then whatever was underneath was just ashes.
