Killers and victims, killers and victims. Three of your own have fallen prey to murderous intent last week. Your numbers keep shrinking. Azura has fallen prey to Franciscus in the same night that Olympia betrayed her friend Millium and killed Cian who wound up in the crossfire. At this rate, is there anyone you can trust?
The townspeople's anger burns hotter than ever. Wherever they go, must they live in fear of stumbling on a corpse? They can't live like this. More than ever, the visitors are being shown that they are
unwelcome.
Walking outdoors, cold looks are the norm. Shouted profanity isn't unexpected. Barely anybody is willing to still hold a conversation with any visitors.
Even within the motel, there is no feeling of safety any longer. Not only have two people died in this very place, no, now the townspeople also lost their fear of coming inside. While they don't enter private rooms, the daring among them vent their hatred of you by vandalizing the common rooms.
Cartesio has become a menacing place.
In the lobby of the motel there's a few more brochures, and
the maps have been updated once again. Don't mind that some of them have been damaged in one of the attacks on the motel.

though, hm. he's going to hang onto this video for a moment, and continue to look around, maybe for a way to play the video. is that even allowed in here? he hasn't seen a VCR anywhere else. he'll move over to the corner where the VCRs are, picking out one, and then looks for the proper hookups.
even if he finds those, though, where on earth will he find a place to play the tape? if he buys these items, will it all be for naught? is there even a television in any of the places that are available to them?
for starters, he'll look around to see if there's anyone around to help him. but judging by how the townsfolk are treating the visitors, he doesn't think he'll get any assistance. he'll still try, going up to the counter with the video, and the VCR, and the cables]

A clerk is sitting at the counter, reading a magazine. She doesn't even look up when Osomatsu approaches]
We don't sell porn.
[...he just approached, lady, he hasn't even said yet what he wants]

but never mind that. he clears his throat and puts the video on the counter]
I just wanted to watch this. Or, if I gotta buy it or rent it to watch it, that's fine. [he doesn't want to have to buy the VCR too, but he will if he has to]

Use the TV on the back. You don't know how to hook that up?

I-I'm sure I could figure it out... But you'd probably be able to do it faster'n me. [a nervous smile]

[And just like that, Osomatsu acquired an old TV. Golly. At least she did her part, she set up the player. Go ahead, pal!]

anyway, here he goes. he opens up the jacket, and inserts the video into the player. presses play, too. let's watch this thing]

"Our founder and a small group of other people surveyed the areas, looking for the most fertile lands to form the town we currently live in!"
[It's actually not a bad tale! Mostly because of the voice narrating it. The images on the screen show peaceful people, building the town, including places Osomatsu and the others know so well.
There's something that may be of interest, though:]
"Every decade we commemorate the foundation of Cartesio" [A calendar appears on the screen, showing years. One of the years match the current year according to the calendars in your rooms] "The celebration includes a small county fair in the streets of Cartesio, starting from May 14th and ending on May 17th. The top attraction is a parade during the night of May 16th, marking the moment the first brick of our beloved town was placed!"
[If Osomatsu counts the dates, May 14th is a Monday, May 16th is a Wednesday, and May 17th is a Thursday. Surely this will go without a hitch, hm?

after finishing the video, he puts everything away, thanks the clerk, and then heads back to the motel to make notes. he'll bring this up when they have their next meeting!]
