Killers and victims, killers and victims. Three of your own have fallen prey to murderous intent last week. Your numbers keep shrinking. Azura has fallen prey to Franciscus in the same night that Olympia betrayed her friend Millium and killed Cian who wound up in the crossfire. At this rate, is there anyone you can trust?
The townspeople's anger burns hotter than ever. Wherever they go, must they live in fear of stumbling on a corpse? They can't live like this. More than ever, the visitors are being shown that they are
unwelcome.
Walking outdoors, cold looks are the norm. Shouted profanity isn't unexpected. Barely anybody is willing to still hold a conversation with any visitors.
Even within the motel, there is no feeling of safety any longer. Not only have two people died in this very place, no, now the townspeople also lost their fear of coming inside. While they don't enter private rooms, the daring among them vent their hatred of you by vandalizing the common rooms.
Cartesio has become a menacing place.
In the lobby of the motel there's a few more brochures, and
the maps have been updated once again. Don't mind that some of them have been damaged in one of the attacks on the motel.

mini-meeting
...And then he has to do his favorite thing ever. Address a crowd. One day this will surely be less painfully awkward. He clears his throat.]
Right then. As some of you know, while the Sergeant was busy overseeing executions this morning, Natalie and I went into the Lodge. Didn't get too far, but I figured we should be talking about it anyway.
The double doors the Sergeant usually stands in front of? Opened without any resistance. He might be standing guard over it all the time because they don't lock. The doors are creaky as hell though, so you're not gonna be able to sneak in by distracting the Sergeant while he's in there.
The interior's a mess. The doors lead to a run down reception area that's dusty. Cobwebs everywhere. Furniture looked like it'd fall apart if we sneezed near it. Place looks like it's been abandoned for years. We saw a desk with a computer on it. Two doors, one on either side of the reception desk. Above the desk there was a logo of some kind -- steel colored, didn't look like the flags around town.
[His brow furrows, and for a moment his expression is unmistakably frustrated.]
Couldn't get a better look. I don't know what we did or how the security system got activated, but once we got a few feet inside the reception area, a bright light flashed and then strong winds started blowing around the furniture. Figured that was our cue to leave before the Sergeant showed up again.
[He goes quiet, looking down at the floor briefly.]
The dead told us the inside of the lodge was black. Must be a lot further inside. Sergeant's probably going to have some nasty upgrades put in place when he figures out we were there, so don't even think about trying to sneak in there for yourselves to figure that out.
[Said entirely straight faced and with zero recognition of the fact that he's probably the only one in the room who needed to be lectured on the dangers of breaking and entering.... He glances at Natalie.]
That's it. [...] So... uh. Any questions? Anyone else have new info they want to share with the class?

He knows about the ghosts already.

What did he say about them?

Did he say anything else about it?
no subject
Like what he did to the others in my group.

Do you think that the wind you guys felt... was some kind of magic?
[ Sakura is familiar with that sort of magic, actually, so. ]

Hey, guys. Uh, I found this tape. It came from the records and video store. [duh] It was mostly showing off the town, and talked a little bit about the history of it.
But the main focus of the tape was that there's a county fair that celebrates the foundation of Cartesio held every decade. The fair lasts from May 14th to May 17th, and there's a big parade on the 16th, since that was the day that they laid the first brick in town, or something. I think they're gonna have the celebration this year.
no subject
Coming up soon then. Did the video say anything about what happens at the festival other than the parade?
no subject
Just that the festival was, like, a county fair. So I guess there's gonna be lots of food and games.
[seems kind of sad with how the town is acting right now]

[It's a strange thought. Even stranger to immediately wonder which of them will still be alive to see this particular one. It's a thought Keith puts aside for the time being.]
If this thing's only held every ten years, it's kinda weird that we haven't heard about it yet in the newspaper. [...] Guess we've been giving them way too much other crap to talk about.
no subject
Yeah, you're right. [we did blow up the diner... and do other things] Maybe they... don't want us to know about it.

Isn't the 16th a Wednesday?
no subject
...Yeah. Yeah, it is. [uh oh]
no subject
It's not for certain, but... we probably shouldn't be too surprised if the Sergeant tries to make us interfere with it that week.
no subject
He may want us to ruin the parade. [the townspeople would probably murder them themselves if they did that]
