Week 6: May 6th - 10th

Sixth Week

Killers and victims, killers and victims. Three of your own have fallen prey to murderous intent last week. Your numbers keep shrinking. Azura has fallen prey to Franciscus in the same night that Olympia betrayed her friend Millium and killed Cian who wound up in the crossfire. At this rate, is there anyone you can trust?

The townspeople's anger burns hotter than ever. Wherever they go, must they live in fear of stumbling on a corpse? They can't live like this. More than ever, the visitors are being shown that they are unwelcome.

Walking outdoors, cold looks are the norm. Shouted profanity isn't unexpected. Barely anybody is willing to still hold a conversation with any visitors.

Even within the motel, there is no feeling of safety any longer. Not only have two people died in this very place, no, now the townspeople also lost their fear of coming inside. While they don't enter private rooms, the daring among them vent their hatred of you by vandalizing the common rooms.

Cartesio has become a menacing place.

In the lobby of the motel there's a few more brochures, and the maps have been updated once again. Don't mind that some of them have been damaged in one of the attacks on the motel.

I'd love to let him leave. I'll even go get him for you. But I don't think whoever set this up will let us resolve this peacefully, so I think he should still be within the graveyard.

[cartesio]

[ While someone else starts to ask, Who are you even talking about? Mason has other priorities. ]

Is he alright?

[icariot]

He was unharmed when I was last inside. You get everyone to stand down and stop throwing things for thirty seconds, and I'll go fetch him.

[cartesio]

[ He swallows and then turns to the rest of the group, speaking as loud as he can. ]

EVERYONE COOL IT!

"Mason, what're you doin'-"

Look, what matters right now is Davis! We gotta make sure...he's not hurt. Just, trust me!

[ Negotiation is a partial success so far, Hawks! ]

[icariot]

[Hawks gives a jaunty salute and a 'thank you' over his shoulder, as he flies back to the hole in the wall.

It's a matter of moments to hike the paralyzed guy into his arms and fly out and back to Mason]

Here he is, he can't seem to move? But he seems fairly alert.

[cartesio]

[ Mason swallows and makes eye contact with Davis, who looks very scared and very still, right now. ]

What happened to him?

[icariot]

I'm assuming someone gave him a tranquilizer of some kind, possibly so he didn't cause more confusion since neither side of this conflict seems to know for sure what's going on. The last thing anyone wants to do right now is hurt anyone.

[cartesio]

[ Mason directs his attention to Hawks, trying to gauge how truthful he's being.

In the end, the man isn't a lie detector...and Hawks isn't technically lying. He nods, and holds up a hand, speaking to the other townsfolk. ]

You guys... You guys, just stand down. Let's just...try to wait out whatever the hell this is. For all our sakes.

[ There's some protesting, but Mason does seem well-respected in the community...and while he's nervous, he seems to believe this. ]

[ If anyone inside the tomb is going to protest not letting this guy go, they're gonna have to go through Dabi first. He's been silent this whole time but he's kinda pissed so. ]
