Week 6: May 6th - 10th

Sixth Week

Killers and victims, killers and victims. Three of your own have fallen prey to murderous intent last week. Your numbers keep shrinking. Azura has fallen prey to Franciscus in the same night that Olympia betrayed her friend Millium and killed Cian who wound up in the crossfire. At this rate, is there anyone you can trust?

The townspeople's anger burns hotter than ever. Wherever they go, must they live in fear of stumbling on a corpse? They can't live like this. More than ever, the visitors are being shown that they are unwelcome.

Walking outdoors, cold looks are the norm. Shouted profanity isn't unexpected. Barely anybody is willing to still hold a conversation with any visitors.

Even within the motel, there is no feeling of safety any longer. Not only have two people died in this very place, no, now the townspeople also lost their fear of coming inside. While they don't enter private rooms, the daring among them vent their hatred of you by vandalizing the common rooms.

Cartesio has become a menacing place.

In the lobby of the motel there's a few more brochures, and the maps have been updated once again. Don't mind that some of them have been damaged in one of the attacks on the motel.

[ There's a very angry "SHHHH" from somewhere behind a bookshelf at that.

And then a quieter 'shh' directed at the first one as one towns-person is trying to calm down their avid reader friend. No starting fights with the outsiders, even if there's a... truce... thing... going on! ]

[She doesn’t fazed by that, instead going back to the device and zooming in on the following sentence:

I couldn’t have hoped for a better turnout.]

[ The answer to this is a bunch of pretty fast zooms. In order, she gets:

The name Frank, zoomed in primarily on the first letters.

The mil in the middle of 'family'.

The first two letters of the word bag.

And then finally the 9 from the 1960 date of the paper. ]

[Muttered to herself:]

Franciscus, Millium, Bakugou, Nine... Got it.

[She shifts it to focus on good in the second article, and the first three letters of management in the same.]

[mmm. a bit nervous about seeing that first name. but it's nice to know that Millium is here, too. Osomatsu's going to mostly let Natalie handle this, watching over her shoulder]

[As she waits for a response...]

[ What follows is a long chain of words and letters.

[She frowns at that, before focusing on the following:

Serious hazard, sar coming. The 'sar' comes from the middle of necessary towards the end of the first article.]

[ Focus shifts to the word when in the first article, then zooms in on the wh only to shift focus to the at from 'that'. ]

[uuuh. he doesn't quite follow what Natalie was trying to say. he also doesn't get what "weather machine junk" means.

[She realizes that Osomatsu wouldn’t know yet, since she’s known for just a few hours herself, so she’ll speak to him before she enters anything:]

...He said that he has ways to confront them if they keep on communicating with us. I asked him this afternoon.

[ The answer is simply, complained, a pause and then: no from 'now', ac from 'accordingly' and a t. ]

[Okay, setting his impatience for their selected method of communicating aside, Keith will spell out what he wants to say letter by letter using the words in the article.

Promised to deal with problem. Stay sharp. Explain damage transfer and Lodge interior.]

[ Keith gets a reply back in the same manner of letter by letter spelling.

Lodge interior all black. Bigger on inside. Walking time feels less than actual length. Any of you check lodge ]

[Not sure how much he wants to admit to looking around in there considering there's a chance Sarge will figure out it was him and Natalie that went in there on Sunday if he spells it out. Slight hesitation, then he pulls off his jacket, covering both his head and the screen to obscure any surveillance footage that may exist in the area. This is absolutely normal behavior and is exactly how non suspicious people behave in a public library.

Spelling out letter by letter.

[ The reply comes in a different style from before.

An f from the first article, uck from truck, ing from 'blessing', bl from 'blessing', ac from 'accordingly', k from 'takes', in from 'diner', d from 'provide', ee from 'fees', p from 'support', si from 'sign and de from 'made'.

Then there comes the word and, the word made, it, expl from 'explained' and ode from 'rodeo'.

This forms the message Fucking black deep inside lodge and made it explode ]

[The next response is fast.

He'll continue to stand there patiently waiting for an answer. Doesn't care that he probably looks really weird uding the device like this and when the power cuts out abruptly, he doesn't care that this is a public library and that he's supposed to be quiet either.]

[uh... Osomatsu is wondering what Keith is doing, standing there with his jacket covering everything. that doesn't look inconspicuous at all]

...Did it stop working?

[Keith's just peeking out from under the jacket.]
