Week 6: Investigation

At around 2 in the morning, a steady rain of hail started to cover the town of Cartesio. The night continued, however, with the motel unbothered, aside from the plink-plink on the roof and windows.

This morning, you'll find the weather's started to let up, though the streets are still blanketed by hail. Mercifully, that's all that's outside the motel this morning. No corpses, no robot remains. That alone should make you feel better, right?

But no. It seems...the town's very alert this morning. There's a strange energy in the air, not just from the Sergeant's horrible threat. Something's off in Cartesio, and you probably recognize that feeling. This has happened four times before, after all.

Keith's quiet for a long moment, saying nothing as he just tries to clear all the books off Dazai's body. Eventually he manages to say something utterly flat and toneless.]

Looks like he put up a real fight.

[oh, thank god, now he doesn't have to deal with dazai threatening to murder hostages anymore

i mean, uh

WHAT'S GOING ON IN THE CHURCH. HE'S HERE.]

[Kino freezes when she hears the announcement. Dazai too?]

...did he...?

[Damn it. Still, nothing for it- there are other things to focus on now.

As promised, she will begin looking over the body, making a mental inventory of all the wounds she can find.]

[DID HE THOUGH? Osomatsu... didn't really talk to Dazai much. he'll leave the whole body investigating up to Keith, but he'll linger around the library to help gather evidence]

Guess we better look around here for clues.

[ mmmm hearing dazai-san is also dead is not good but she'll deal with that Later. so let's check non-body things -- what do we got at first glance? ]

[She doesn’t notice the firefighters as quickly as the two boys, so it’s only after they’ve found the body that she comes in. She blinks once, twice, expression growing tight with pain.]

...Yeah, looks like he did.

[starting here, Osomatsu is going to look around near the body for anything out of the ordinary first. so there was a fire?]

[SINCE OSO'S ABANDONING KEET WITH THE BODY....

Time to take a closer look at these burns and the body in general. Anything major to note?]

[ Gant is the true winner today.

He won't even have to enter the poor ruined church, as long as he looks in the dove topiary outside, where...there's a hunting knife poking out, hilt-up. ]

[ There are a lot of wounds this time, so! How's Kino looking over him? Head to toe, left to right, etc? ]

[Sure, let's go head to toe on whatever side is facing up for now.]

[ Sakura's found a fuckton of bullet casings! Where? Everywhere. There are so many bullet casings, littered around the floor. ]

[haha, oh, wow. He'll just take that, then, because it's very likely Evidence.]

[ I CAN'T BELIEVE SHE FOUND BULLET-RELATED STUFF AGAIN................ if she were to gather them up how many would there be? and also, in terms of size, how big and/or wide are these casings? ]

[ Oh, was there ever. It's mostly the immediate area that's damp and smoky. Thank goodness not all the books were water damaged...

If Osomatsu's looking for evidence of fire, what he'll notice first of all is a broken oil burning lamp, on top of the bookcase pinning Dazai. One of these things. Old, fancy. Only the base is here. ]

[ RIP KEET...

Obviously, there's the fact that Dazai is under a bookcase, but we're sort of covered that already, haven't we? Related to that, Keith will probably take note of the bruises on Dazai's torso, starting where the top of the bookcase has him pinned. ]

[Osomatsu's not even sure of what this is! but he notices that it is broken, and that it's missing a top. he'll keep that in mind as he looks for more evience. does it look like the oil in here was the cause of the fire?]

[ He's face up, first of all. The biggest wound Kino will notice is a gash that stretches from shoulder to hip, and it is incredibly deep. ]

[ It's embedded deep, Gant will want to note, and the hilt's covered in hail. Seems it's been here for awhile. ]
