Week 6: Investigation

At around 2 in the morning, a steady rain of hail started to cover the town of Cartesio. The night continued, however, with the motel unbothered, aside from the plink-plink on the roof and windows.

This morning, you'll find the weather's started to let up, though the streets are still blanketed by hail. Mercifully, that's all that's outside the motel this morning. No corpses, no robot remains. That alone should make you feel better, right?

But no. It seems...the town's very alert this morning. There's a strange energy in the air, not just from the Sergeant's horrible threat. Something's off in Cartesio, and you probably recognize that feeling. This has happened four times before, after all.

BODY ANNOUNCEMENT

[From among the bookshelves, the Sergeant and Waver come out walking. Waver seems to be rather unhappy with the state of everything, but doesn't comment. To his side, the Sergeant shakes his head]

...that's how life goes, I guess.

[He doesn't sound very happy about things. Still, he's here to do his job. Everyone in town will hear it:]

Wayne Uedera and Osamu Dazai are dead. These are the latest victims, and now they shall be avenged. Or perhaps not? We will see. For now, start investigating, and we'll meet at the usual time at the courtroom.

[The Sergeant turns around, walking away with Waver and promising him he would deal with everything after the investigation time was over. Waver simply nods, not bothering to disguise the contempt he feels towards the Sergeant]
