Week 6: Investigation

At around 2 in the morning, a steady rain of hail started to cover the town of Cartesio. The night continued, however, with the motel unbothered, aside from the plink-plink on the roof and windows.

This morning, you'll find the weather's started to let up, though the streets are still blanketed by hail. Mercifully, that's all that's outside the motel this morning. No corpses, no robot remains. That alone should make you feel better, right?

But no. It seems...the town's very alert this morning. There's a strange energy in the air, not just from the Sergeant's horrible threat. Something's off in Cartesio, and you probably recognize that feeling. This has happened four times before, after all.

[Like made from a long bladed weapon deep or is knife still a possibility?]

[ The firemen running on foot catch Dabi's attention, so might as well wander to the fire station to see what's up.

Anything immediately off? ]

[This is awful okay. Keith's not a medical examiner!!

But bruises, got it. Are all the bruises consistent with him being pinned under the bookcase or are there are few stray bruises that look like something else caused them?]

[ It's possible! Considering the fire's centralized around this area, it's a reasonable assumption to make. ]

[ It could be from a knife? What you can tell from the wound is, it was made with a sharp, non-serrated blade. ]

[okay! we won't rule that out. Osomatsu continues to look in the same area, going carefully. he looks up, and down around the bookcase. in fact, now that it's been moved, anything odd about it? it was pretty heavy, right?]

[ There's a lot of fire fighters crowded around the fire trucks in the open garage. A quick glance will show the tires have all been slashed. ]

[Kino will double check to see how consistent the depth is, to try to see if it looks like it trails off at any point indicating the arc of the slash or not.]

[ That explains why they're running on foot, and it's kinda funny actually. Maybe another whole building burned down, he'll have to see what the rest of the town looks like after.

Any other vandalism happening around the truck, or is this just "how many firemen does it take to change a tire?" in live action. ]

[ The exact number doesn't really matter, but we'll say enough for a whole case. With a little looking, Sakura will be able to see the casings are relatively small and light, a set of .32. ]

[She's getting a look at that. No words because there's nothing he could say that'd make this better, but have a gentle reminder that he'll listen if you need someone to talk to later.]

[ Most all of them are consistent with him being pinned! However, if he looks a little closer at Dazai's lower half, he'll find a bruise on the right side of his abdomen that doesn't match up with any of the bookcase shelves. ]

[ okay cool is there anything else besides all these casings over here on the ground? ]

[cartesio]

[ It was heavy, that's right! Judging from how many books are scattered around Dazai's head (all burned, RIP), it was probably very top-heavy, to be specific. Osomatsu will, looking at the bookcase, find two things sort of odd about it, one more centered around the broken oil burning lamp and one around the bottom of the bookcase in general. Where would he like to look first? ]

[ It's pretty consistent. A little more shallow as you reach the hip, however. ]

[ Quite a few things, actually. There's bullet holes in the walls, to match these casings, first of all. ]

[Good to know. Is it his right or left shoulder to right or left hip? And are there other injuries on this side?]

[ How high are these bullet holes? ]

[hmmm. going to check near the broken oil lamp first, since he's been looking around there already. what's odd about this?]

[Hrmm. Is there anything particular about this bruise to note other than its inconsistency with the others? What shape/size is it and can we tell what might've caused it?]

[cartesio]

[There's more vandalism indeed. The truck usually has firehoses on them, hanging from the top and ready to be unrolled and used.

Turns out these ones won't be blasting water anytime soon. Pulling from a hose to take a better look will leave Dabi with a piece of hose in his hands. These hoses have been slashed too!]

[ It varies. Some are lower to the ground, but the highest they go is about five feet up or so. ]

[ Well odd was the wrong word, my apologies there--more here's where signs of fire would be. What he'll find is the fire damage spreading outward from the back of the bookcase, where the oil lamp rests. That seems to be the most burnt section of the bookcase, and where the fire began. ]

[ alright cool.... are we good on bullet-related things or are there more secrets to find in this room? ]
